I don't even remember that part so I couldn't have found it that difficult.

Thinking of giving this a go on PS4 Pro, what is the recommended difficulty choice? Reading some of your comments it sounds like it can be tricky in places?

Same. I've been meaning to replay this and play the DLC for a while now.

So finally finished this after picking it up for £4

Its not great isn’t it? I was ready for it to be over about 4 hours before the end.

The characters are paper thin, the plot is promising but disappears under its own weights. It seems to confuse ‘confusing’ with ‘intugueing’. Like a school art student who saw something like Inception and thought ‘that’s easy’

Far too many bosses or enemies with instant kill mechanics - often which are introduced and use them within seconds.

Difficulty spikes all over the shop and normal felt very very punishing

The lack of structure (due to jumping all over the ship) means you rarely have a sense of objectives or progress - beyond walking forward its hard to tell if you’re making advancements towards the end.

Kidmans plotlinr seems crucial - but I understand it’s the DLC. Feels off to have to pay more to understand plot.

What was up with Lily/Myra?

The abductions seem to be based on Ruvik needing subjects?

Or the cult and church?

When were the cops pulled into Stem? On the drive over?

Why was Leslie special?

who killed the hospital in real world at the end?

In all seriousness, play NG+. Seriously. Just do it. I was lukewarm on TEW when i finished my first run. But then i did a NG+ (survival difficulty), and suddenly, when your pistol isnt a worthless piece of gooseberry fool, Sebastian doesnt get gassed from running 5 feet, and you can withstand attacks stronger than a gust of wind, the game transforms in literally the best action/survival horror title since Resi 4.

No :slol:

Edit - Wait. You did Survival (normal?) on NG+? I did that (it's described as standard difficulty) on my first (and only. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice and I'M NOT PLAYING TEW AGAIN) play through.

See above: FMOSOY,FMT and NO!

I'll just wait and play the sequel that fixed most of the terrible terrible problems.

Plus now I'm playing Horizon

The sequel fixes none of the problems, youll be glad to hear.

Also, play it again on NG+ you massive strawberry floating fanny.

But I hated it! (Often)

Plus playing Horizon happily

But it turns out the main character is voice by that cow from Life is Strange Chloe, so that might ruin the game for me...

You really shouldn't have to play a game multiple times to get the 'true' experience though.

Agreed. I enjoyed it in my one and only playthrough.

I thought the original did a pretty great job of melding RE4's combat encounters with more survival horror stuff, on a regular playthrough. And I don't recall the pistol being a piece of gooseberry fool, I used it for most of the game which is why I'm disappointed your primary in the sequel no longer seems to be a revolver. :(

Default pistol compared to fully upgraded is nuts tho. You can explode heads like crazy with that gooseberry fool. But yeah the lack of revolver in TEW2 was awful. In fact the entire pistol gunplay was seriously gimped with horrible aiming

I guess you guys never did the sidequests. :shifty:

I thought the aiming was down to my shittyness.

Just started playing this and I switched the difficulty down from Nightmare on approximately the... second encounter. I mean disabling aim-assist? On a console? That's not difficult, it's just strawberry floating annoying.

I can't tell if the dialog is deliberately cheesy or just bad. Either way it has a charm to it. Seems pretty solid otherwise.

Just started this for the first time ever courtesy of Game pass. Its a bit Outlast in the first 15 minutes isn't it? I hated Outlast - too much for me to contend with! :slol:

Is the whole game alike this or does it become more of a gun-a-thon later?

It's very Resi 4 style action when it gets going.

I really loved this game and I've been tempted to rebuy it in the current PSN sale.

The sequel is fantastic, easily one of the best horror-action titles of the generation. We really need that third entry.

IIRC you’ve got about 2-4 hours of franticly tense horror/escape/survival and then about 6 hours of more action horror RE4 style as you’ve geared up.

All this talk of Evil Within reminded me of an old game clip I recorded on xbox one.

Not one of my finest hours :slol:
