I'm really not feeling this, not sure if it's the setting, the characters or the combat, but something feels off. I haven't got very far; just beyond diamond city, not sure whether to persevere...?

The wife's been furnishing her house at Home Plate, and has three full book cases of magazines - Grognak, etc - but the game won't let her build any more.

Technical limitation?

So. Got to the Institute. I quite liked the twist actually. I was wondering how they would give them an emotional hook and I think that's about the best possible answer. It did feel a little like a completely different game though, and I'm still not sure Bethesda really get what the Fallout universe was originally about. Each iteration (with the except of New Vegas which was more Fallout 3 than Fallout 3) diverges further and further away from the fascinating world of the originals and more towards the rather trope filled post-apocalyptic world Bethesda are creating.

Also, I'm a bit bored of the side quests now. Got loads, but sort of just want to finish the main quest and move on to another game. I never had this feeling with Fallout 3, which is a bit sad.

I thought they blew it with the whole "He could be closer than you think" line. I think it would have been better to make the reveal a little later.

From that line I assumed Shaun's personality had gone into a ZAX super computer a la President Eden. so yeah, I thought it worked. The deadpan acting and atrocious facial animations of course robbed it of any real impact but still, it was effective for a Bethesda Fallout game.

Today is the last day to buy the season pass.

I took the bait and ordered it a few days ago since I couldn't shift my copy of Fallout 4 for a reasonable price.

It was almost 3 months into playing this and I was aware, like others here, that I was on the brink of getting utterly bored with it, so finally made the inevitable choice of who to side with and finished off the main storyline. It felt good to finally finish it but straight away had little motivation for the wealth of side missions I still have to pursue (despite the huge breaks I took from the main story just to concentrate on side missions). It's been 2 weeks now and I do see myself going back to it soon and I'm quite excited at the prospect of playing on now the main story is all done, whereas initially it felt like a huge loss.

Overall I've enjoyed the game immensely and it had me utterly immersed in it's world. Mind you the first Fallout I played was 3 and then Vegas, both of which I didn't allow myself to enjoy as much as they deserved because I subconsciously wanted them to be another Oblivion, the fantasy based games being more my style. Even though I enjoyed them I just don't think I played them right and certainly not for the same amount of time. But by 4 I think I'd let that go and this was probably the first Fallout game I've played properly and being completely gripped by. It's made me want to go back to 3 and New Vegas someday.

Automatron is out this month isn't it? I can't seem to find a date.

I was thinking of starting a new character when the revamped survival mode becomes available, however I can't find any indicating of when this will patched. Does anyone have any more information?

Is it going to have quests, or just robot building? The price tag says quests, to me.
Another big patch for this game the other day, I wonder what it did?

Shame the raider tents don't snap together.

Weren't there supposed to be new buildable string lights added with this patch? I can't find 'em.

Thanks for that, Jawa, nothing of note for me. I don't build.

So, Curie won't leave Vault 81 for me unless we travel together. She won't be sent to any settlements I tell her to go to, she'll just run the strawberry float back to the med bay at the bottom of 81, from across the entire map if necessary.

I trawled a few bug threads, and I guess the only way to not have this happen is to talk to her at a very specific moment toward the end of 81's main mission, where she brings up wanting to be your travel companion. If you don't talk to her right there outside the med bay, and decide to complete the mission or whatever, then unless she's travelling with you, she's there, forever stuck. Presumably, her companion dialogue is overriding her other dialogue, and there's no override to skip that if events don't proceed in that very specific way. Months after release, this pretty significant bug remains un-patched.

Presumably, this also has something to do with why I can't talk to that one Jet addict in there about seeking help for his problem. I never get that dialogue option.
