I think the most expensive, doesn't serve a real purpose that their predecessors didn't and strawberry float it I just want it things I own are my PC and my TV which cost about 2500GBP between them.

I think the fanciest thing I own in terms of rarity is a herbal liquor thing I got in China in an ornate bottle which is a digestif and strawberry floating lovely and I will eventually have to finish because it'll go off but is so good that can't find an occasion nice enough to justify polishing it off.

I have a nice bike and a nice watch. But who determines what is fancy?

Probably our new car that we got last October. It's not exactly that exciting (it's a Toyota Rav 4, so very much a family car) but having gone from a 13 year old car the range of new features is mindblowing

She is very fancy. Apparently when she travels from LA to Tokyo she only uses the fast lane.

I've been eyeing up Kef ls50 meta speakers and an amplifier to match so if I do buy those, then they'll definitely be my most fancy purchase ever.

Otherwise not much.

My actual response would be my photography gear, since it's a hobby instead of a profession.

Everything I've got that could be described as fancy revolves around my PC. The thing itself cost upwards of 1500 quid (not counting the 700 quid monitor), my Elite controller was 120 quid and my two mechanical keyboards around 150 each.

I've a 1200 quid Omega too, but that was a 21st birthday present from my parents.

I've got a tin opener that leaves no sharp edges, and makes a lid out of the top of the tin that fits back in place. It's fancy.

Unless your computer is the one that Hugh Jackman uses in Swordfish, it isn't fancy.

Do any tins still actually need an opener? Don't they all come with a little pull thing these days?

Maybe I'm just buying fancy tins

As in Stanley, County Durham? You could buy a house there for a tenner.

Thanks to my purchase I can no longer afford fancy tins.

I was going to say the obvious occasion would be Peter Molyneux's birthday but it was the 5th of May so you missed it.
How about celebrating the anniversary of the launching of the HMS Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier on the 17th of July which should obviously be a national holiday.

Both are worthy.

My TV and earphones are pretty fancy.
Other than that the replica of Mjolnir, the witch King's helmet and dragon egg are too.
The Bat Signal is very fancy.
As is the incoming lotr statue.

I dunno actually, most of my material possessions are retro game related, I have a 13 year old TV and nothing special in the computer department. Probably my wardrobe full of Joe Brown clothes that the wife has insisted I buy, or a couple of exotic football tops I picked up in a Nike sale last year?

Or my 4x4 jeep, which is kitted out in the style of Jurassic Park.

Everything I have that is expensive is just stuff, no matter the cost, things that anyone can have if they really want. I think things with sentimental value are far more valuable than a £800 pair of trainers that anyone can buy.
