This is going to be the greatest sitcom return in the history of television.

Shame 'innit

- No Connie Booth (who co-created the original)
- Other cast members sadly no longer with us or health problems
- Possibly set it in a boutique hotel in the Caribbean - because 'it becomes very stereotypical multiracial'
- Doesn't want the BBC to have anything to do with it
- John Cleese himself unfortunately seems to be quite reactionary these days. Does he seem like he's going deaf? Also his speech patterns seem slightly slurred, and he speaks very meanderingly (not a criticism for someone his age - just may have left it a bit too late)

Original was and still is amazing and I would love this to be good. But hard to even be cautiously optimistic with this one.

That would be cool. Take the character and make its own thing. That David Brent Life on the Road was alright (I suppose) but it wasn't The Office Movie and you can fairly exclude it from your head canon.

Translation:

"The BBC saw my script and thought it sounded gooseberry fool"

Or

"The BBC saw my script and decided it was further right than Mind Your Language"

Thing is with any return of old sitcoms you have to change so much out and it will never be on the same levels of comedy which makes them very different.

PLAY | Persona 3 Reloaded [3h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S3, HiJack S1, Red Dwarf S4, Dexter S2

Why would he do this? It's never going to match up to the original. He's surely got enough money.

Cleese has been (justifiably) lambasting the British press for years and, yet, here he is now, cozying up to one of the most despicable, most detestable banana splits that it's ever spawned, on a channel that's the TV equivalent of everything he formerly railed against.

From the thumbnail he's turned into the stereotypical gammon. What is it that people becoming hateful makes their skin so red.

I believe in certain circles it's referred to as 'Lucifer's Glow' or, on special occasions, 'Beelzebub's Blush'.
