What annoyed me the most was the across the board 10's from reviewers, were they playing a different game to the rest of us?

While I know a lot of people did really like it, I can't think of many that thought it warranted the volume of praise it got. What other games have reviewers been so out of sync with the public on?

Am I right to bad mouth the game though? I loved 3 and Vice City but never really got into San Andreas as I found it way to chaved up, while this game is just irratating, no fun to play and even on the highest lighting setting I still cant see strawberry float all... as a result I have not played any further than the period where Michelles turns out to be part of the FBI or FBI or FAB or whatever the hell it is. (Side note, who the hell did not see that "twist" coming?)

Gears of War - "Each stage is memorable", "a kind graphical fidelity", "the graphics are gorgeous" (did these idiots look at the walls or the floors?)

Sorry for veering slightly OT but the amount of GTAIV hate completely baffles me, its a great game. How people who enjoyed the PS2 games failed to like IV is beyond me.

i only liked GTA3, did not care for what followed. GTA4 is as good as the first one, so perhaps it was the locations i did not like in those between 3 and 4.

Sorry but if you don't like Vice City (the setting) then you don't have a soul.

Climbing up telephone poles.

I remember that. In a demo Rockstar showed to journalists, they actually did climb up a telephone pole.

Also, THE GLOVES! THAT ARE ON THE COVER ART!

On my wanderings around Lib, I found at least two basketball courts and there's a huge driving range on Algonquin's west coast. They were put in the game, but for whatever reason the games weren't activated/finished. DLC?

Moar DLC?

Alderney will feature "an expanse of wetlands" similar to the New Jersey Meadow lands.

Sounds like DLC stuff to me.

Incredibly lame if content that was in the demo version that was shown to journalists was taken out so it could be part of the DLC.

Anyway, the list of what was cut/didn't make it into game doesn't shock me...I'm still very pissed that they didn't allow you to use the boot of your car to store weapons, health packs, etc.

Oh yeah, seems odd they took the duffel bag stuff out even though the special edition still came with one.

I know, thats actually one of the reasons I stopped playing it. You had to drive to the mission then drive somebody to the actual mission, then shoot some people. I got bored. And there wasn't enough to do in Liberty City either.

Wow! I really didn't like this game.

The reason why I hate it is partly my own stupid fault. I was doing a mission where you have to pick up a sniper rifle and watch over a meeting (they obviously they start fighting and you have to snipe the bad guys).

First go. Drive them there. Pick up the sniper rifle. Run up all the flights of stairs. Accidentally press the fire button instead of aiming, meeting is called off, got to start it all over again.

I did exactly the same thing on my second attempt ( ) and on the third go, the guy I was meant to protect died, couldn't be arsed after that.

Taking pictures on your phone - XBW thought more missions would use this
There was one mission with this.

Tiarny is right. This did happen, but all speech seems to have two variations so you may not have got it.

The rest does look suspiciously like DLC, and if it is then I'll dispair.

There was going to be marshland?! Why did they take that out? :(

San Andreas was the pinnacle of Grand Theft Auto.

Assuming it was ever there in the first place, it's possible they wanted to leave something like that out for the DLC or sequel, as they were happy with the final version they eventually made. What if the DLC entails the addition of a number of other islands surrounding Liberty on the inland side, including some marshlands and wooded areas? Sure it's not San Andreas, but they can't begrudge us our Goodfellas bury-man-in-woods moment can they?

Isn't it entirely probable that we may see "missing" features as part of the DLC?

Then you are as irredeemably wrong as San Andreas was.

We're all putting our hopes in this stuff being in the dlc, is just hope we're not disappointed. It would be nice if we get alot of this stuff once the dlc comes, i never realised how boring the game is once you've done the story.

As well as more features, i'm hoping we get a story based on the Mcrearys. Perhaps playing as Packie,, with Gerry out of jail we can fight to get them back on top. This would be completly different to the game's main story because Niko's motives aren't ever about making it to the top of the crime ladder just to survive(i'm suprised we never see Mr Bulgarin again though)

XBW did mention about the voice actor behind Niko not recording any new lines but they ask the question whether this'd already been done during the game's development but was cut to be saved for the dlc)

MrBrown and myself have been left comparing it to Crackdown. So far, I think GTA is an incredible experience, but arguably Crackdown is the better game.
