Is there a better button to cross with than X? All I ever end up doing is a painfully slow high ball. I want a proper cross!

Double tap X for a lower, faster cross. Triple tap to cross on the deck.

Framerate wise or graphically? On PS3 there's mild slowdown when things gets really busy on screen (we're not talking anywhere near PES levels though) & the cut scenes (goal celebrations, ect) are really quite choppy/stuttery as it was in 07 & 08 - like the framerate has taken a massive hit.

Graphically there wasn't any problems that I could tell. There's still that 'issue' of players appearing about a second later than the pitch does post loading screen. There's a very short loading screen for substitutions too, but that's been sped up considerably from 2008.

I'm not much for the crowd in the demo.

They seem to be using placeholders rather than the 3D scarf-waving models we've seen in the latest batch of videos.

EDIT 2: It seems that the demo build is about two months old, and the latest preview code being sent out to various people still isn't quite final. So who knows what version the mags have had so far!

  those are some skills. Are they just executedby flicking the right stick, or do you have to hold the RT as well?

The tricks are absolutely outstanding and for once only really work with better players. I could pull off all kinds of tricks with Deco but using someone like Belleti just makes you look stupid. Really looking forward to it, I can't stop playing the demo.

Purgatory's kind of like the in-betweeny one. You weren't really gooseberry fool, but you weren't all that great either. Like Tottenham.

Thing I don't like about the tricks is the input they require in now way reflects the move that comes out of them.

Both, apparently.

EDIT: From rllmuk...

360 version. Much smoother anti aliasing, solid frame rate, an extra layer of post processing and if I'm not mistaken the ps3 version looks noticeably lower res. Surprised EA still haven't got to grips with the PS3.

Last year the PS3 demo was worse than the 360 version, but by the time the final game came out it had all changed so I would expect the same to happen this year too. I hope it does anyway.

Got the demo today, rather good. Think I'll get it for Christmas.

Well, I've finally got back into the swing of Fifa and must say now, I've enjoyed it. However as always I still have a few cons - but I'm hoping that this game is a really early beta.

- Crowd, merely there as mentioned earlier as "placeholders".
- Graphics - players look jaggered in gameplay.
- Menus very dark and black in my opinion does not suit a Fifa Title.

- I love the EA sports logo that appears before replays..etc..

An interview with one of the delevopers

Intially we wanted the title to be red, but one of the top execs (M. Jagger) wanted it in black.
