Finally got around to playing the demo of this and quite frankly what a load of shite. I can't believe so many people prefer this to PES. Frankly PES1 from the PS2 plays a better game than this. Definitely won't be purchasing this and looks like I will buy yet another version of PES.

I agree, the people who think Fifa is even near last years crap pes 2008 are seriously deluded. Fifa feels so wrong on many counts and is just so unresponsive and is no fun to play. You can have your glitzy presentation but pes will always be king, this year I do feel konami have sorted it out and next year we will all get the graphics and the gameplay.

And some are just plain wrong. "Unresponsive"? Factual error.

Anyhoo....

Comparing demos to full games is wrong. Not Hitler wrong, but still wrong.

It is though, it feels like theres a delay between using the joystick and seeing it on screen, the animations for passing and general feel of it have put me off yet again and I am waiting for pro evo to provide me with my first next gen footy game.

Nope I refer to this gen as next gen as I am still living in the past and have not yet witnessed enough truly groundbreaking graphics for it to be next gen.

I am in denial, yes, but I expected all games to have no draw distance issues, no pop-in, every game to be 60fps and run at 720p at least!

Oh yeah I should have got a 360!

I sometimes worry that people aren't aware what 'next gen' actually means.

For me the next gen will only arrive when we get a constant flurry of AAA games

There is nothing, I mean nothing on the ps3 and 360 that has genuinely had me excited to super mario 64/ zelda oot/ WW proportions.

I do believe we are in denial and these apparent AAA games are nowhere near worthy of that status and we have been brainwashed into accepting this.

Games are now lacking so much single player focus imo it is spoiling the experience, games are now unpolished, relying on updates, more exclusives should mean better quality games imo.

We had that last autumn. Anything a lot better than that is not going to happen, and never has happened in the past. AAA games will never be ten-a-penny.

I just cannot let go Stu, that excitement is just not there and I am convinced that the devs just are not trying hard enough. The price of games is still the same, why should the quality suffer?

I remember I was 5 when I played a game called Atic Atac (Rare) on the Spectrum 48k.

I thought it was amazing, brilliant, out of this world.

Fast forward many years.....

It's rubbish now.

It might have put a smile on my face back then, but back then anything and everything impressed me.

Yes, I know what you are saying, but my great gaming memories are the saturn/playstation/n64/dreamcast era and the last two still hold up very very compared this this gens standards. For me gaming has not improved enough since the end of the dreamcast and are becoming less fun.

Only Nintendo can save the day now imo.

Yep, my excitement in gaming is not what it was, I will however buy the major games.

What I want is the golden generation to be emulated with proper sequels, but the fact is nothing can emulate those times, as they have changed forever.
