EA Sports FC seems like more of a placeholder. Given the majority of sales of FIFA have been in Europe it wouldn't be too much of a stretch if they rebranded the game as EA Sports UEFA '24. The brand might not initially make much sense outside of Europe but EA sell NBA/NFL/PGA titles worldwide without issue.

This is what immediately comes to mind to me too.

It feels so strange that a game famous for being fully licensed now has a "made up", almost mobile-like generic name. I'm guessing that EA will be spending huge amounts of cash to raise awareness of the new name; it'll probably be popping up in Sky Sport's coverage and on pitch side advertising.

The official new website is up and it demonstrates how the new logo will be used:

They have *tons* of official licenses in place across both the men's and women's game (see the website for the huge scrolling list of logos) and I guess that if you don't have the FIFA license then there's not really another all-encompassing partner to team up with.

It'll be interesting to see if FIFA's own game has the same depth of official licenses as EA's does.

Good that it’ll be on the Switch of course, I do doubt it’ll be the same version as the other consoles though, its going to be EA Sports FC 24 Legacy in all but name.

Yeah it will, I don’t think it’ll be called Legacy for the first game, but definitely from the second it will. Can only hope they put more effort into the second gen Switch version than this will probably get.
