The fact it's going to be 2 discs makes me wonder just how huge the file size will be. I guess they haven't compressed anything if it needs to be that big.

Looks amazing though. I should buy the other FF7 part first at some point lol

Everyone seems to be using the multiverse now bringing dead characters back to life.

I'm very excited to see where this goes next (and how much of the world/story beats from the OG VII we get to experience) but my god that trailer reminds me just how terrible the majority of the voice work has been in these remakes. :dread:

Really makes you realise just how good something like Xenoblade is on that front

Though it was heavily criticised at the time because on Xbox 360 you didn't have to do it (or very rarely), the PS3 was the beginning of the mandatory installation. I remember for MGS4 it took strawberry floating ages!

How far we've come that we're now disc swapping and installing. :|

Didn't you have to sit and watch Snake smoke for like an hour whilst it was installing before you could play?

I don't think the voice acting in FF7 is bad, it's just not very grounded.

Some of it is okay, but some I think is genuinely bad.

It's very inconsistent as well, like the tone and nature of each performance doesn't sit tight together. It's like some characters are from a completely different game stylistically to others.

Original game was like that too though. You had goofy gooseberry fool right next to super emotional stuff.

Oh definitely, but I think what worked in a 90s text based game of that style doesn't necessarily translate to a high fidelity fully voiced experience in the here and now.

I dunno, I'm being picky I guess - I got used to the voicing in Remake eventually. I think it's things like how wet Aerith seems in this, from the performance and the changes to the behaviour of the character that don't sit too well. Aerith had a "star child" optimism element to her in the original yes, but she also hard a sterness and forthright inner strength which seems wholly absent in this version

Need to replay Remake, with DLC, before this and I'd also like to pick up the Crisis Core remake (remaster?) first as well. 7 Remake was actually me first FF game ever and it was a really incredible experience. Absolutely brilliant.

I thought Ever Crisis was just going to be a mobile remake of VII? They're really trying to milk this for all it's worth!

Nope, I did buy it with Christmas money though so it's on my list to play!
