A fairer price than the £50-55 some predicted.

Its a port, not a remake. Price is fair

I think that was when there was rumours of a physical release with all new voice recordings

Not seen any videos to suggest it has voice overs

Yeah, I've had a look and it does indeed look like there's been no official news of voiceovers.

Sorry!

No idea whats going on. I guess an upscaled remaster is worth the £15.99. It sounded like it was a great game, but i just cannot enjoy these turn based battle games which i feel are boring and needlessly extend a games length. I am so glad that square enix went with a western battle system for the ff7 remake and cannot wait to enjoy that.

Again I don't know, but if it follows the FFXII and VII remakes it'll include a x3 time mode which allows you, not necessarily to skip but reduce the timestamp of the turn based battles.

I'd say the opposite and I've found each Final Fantasy since they moved away from the PS1 games less enjoyable than the last. A large part of which is down to the battle systems moving to free-roam and real time.

It's why I got so into Dragon Quest earlier in the year. Just a well polished, turn based battle system and I'd love to see FFXVI gives us a full AAA ATB system.

That said, I'll be picking this up as well. Price is reasonable and I think VIII is a fantastic game, despite it's flaws.

For me, a JRPG needs to have turn based battles, partly because I can't physically manage real-time combat these days but also because it just 'feels right'.

I was in the "JRPGs are gooseberry fool without turn based (or ATB) battle systems" camp until recently but Xenoblade Chronicles 2 really turned me around - the combat system in that is spectacular.

Still massively looking forward to this, I've had a real soft sport for VIII for years despite all its quirks but it is the one of the PS1 generation that I've re-played the least so a fresh run through will be awesome. :toot:

Seen a lot of people sit in differnet camps with XC2 so it's nice to see some love for it.

I personally prefer real time combat in RPGs but if a game has cool mechanics that keep things interesting then I don't mind turn based. It's just been harder to get into for me these days.

There’s a great rhythm to the battles in XC2, and it’s oh so satisfying when you line everything up how you want to.
