Onwards and upwards in what is my favourite final fantasy game ever.
I really do wonder if I'm playing a different game to you all sometimes, onto Chapter 13 and the battle system is really costing me now. Come across a bunch of really powerful guys and I have a strategy that will work to beat them but it doesn't because my team continue to cast on every other ****** first rather than the guy I say to target! Seriously frustrating stuff and it to the false real-time stuff and it is one of the worst battle systems I have played with in an RPG for a very long time.
From what I have gathered this game is not really for the FF veterans, but more for people coming into the franchise. I found the battle system too complicated in FF7 and FF12, but in this its so simple to learn and understand, but also has added complexity for more seasoned pros.
It is a wonderful game, the cutscenes are pure magic and I actually love the linear nature of the game. Grinding in this game is not really needed, well perhaps a little in Gran Pulse, but not so much that it takes over the experience.
I think what has put many people's noses out of joint is that the game is not what they wanted, very similar to my opinion of Super Mario Galaxy 1/2. Although its a great game, its not exactly the Super Mario 64 Part 2 that I crave.
