If you're talking about the part I think you are then you're in the final stretch to Heavensward.

I did a couple more quests after SS and got some nerdpoints (which I've been treating as patch/storyline breakpoints)

Auphinaud is such a little bitch. "I'll make my own group! With Blackjack and Hookers!"...

Really comes across as wanting something to put him level withMs Titbondage the Scions leader.

I'm assuming someone (Uranger or one of the other Scions who do little) will end up having to sacrifice themselves to make a blade of light...what's the Monk like one whos's sister just turned up? Ytasda or something?

Am I daft - Why do people think Hydrulan (or whatever) is a god? Couldn't it be a Primal? Zodiak too based on the wierd atler thing the ascians meet at

Aycemer has really pretty armor

I wouldn't worry too much about it. We're two expansions on and it's barely even been talked about beyond one or two conversations since the Praetorium.

With any luck by the end of Shadowbringers we'll have a clearer picture, but for now it's been extremely sparse. It's really a case of "don't worry about it" because people up to date are in the exact same boat.

And yes, Alphinaud is indeed the shittest of little shitkids. I love my dumb elf son.
And yes, ser Aymeric is indeed Baemeric. I love my dumb elf boyfriend.

And speaking of precious sons, here's Spider-Man shilling for FFXIV:

It just keeps going!

Done up to the Steps of Faith now

Aymerc continues to be a boss

Auphinaud is looking to still be a little bitch - but it's starting to look like making his own armed miltia comprised of miscreants no one else wanted...might be a bad idea? WHO KNEW?!?!?1

Approaching the end of HS now I think.

They've really got the balance right in this. Unlike WoW where it stumbles of you being important, but also one of many, this has just said "strawberry float it. You're the Warrior of Light". In story terms 24 man raids are you leading a team of random adventurers in. They've even added small dialogue choices. They don't impact anything, you're still mute, but it helps invest you slightly more in your character. It also helps them put you front and center in cutscenes - something WoW never did.

I've quite happily basically played this a single player game with a long arching story. You can ignore most side stuff, and once you get past the early MMO traps it works really well (although there are still MMO style missions - but it works like say, Mass Effect or Dragon Age Inquisition)

Love that casual saunter at the end  (Spoilers for later Heavensward Patches)

I didn't like the final stretch to Stormblood. The patch content felt like it peak at the end of Dragonsong War.

The last bit seemed very rushed (and the quests/cutscenes lackluster)

I can get that. It's a similar case in the build up to Shadowbringers, too, but you'll see what I mean with that.

As cool and interesting as the Warriors of Darkness storyline was, it did kind of push the Stormblood build-up to the side and would have functioned better in 4.X over 3.X since Shadowbringers is a direct continuation of that thread.

That said, I think having the 3 months between each patch to let things sit certainly helps.

Sony Announces Live-Action Final Fantasy XIV TV Series

The live-action television series will tell an original story set in Eorzea, the world where Final Fantasy XIV is set. What the series will focus on is still under wraps, but per a press release it will explore “the struggle between magic and technology in a quest to bring peace to a land in conflict.” It’s still in the development stage—which in Hollywood means “writing, but with more meetings”—so there’s no word on who will be cast, nor is there any footage to speak of, and there won’t be for some time. Same goes for what network or streaming service you’ll find the show on, or a premiere date.

If I set my expectations low I can only be pleasantly surprised.

Also Shadowbringers is out now. Unfortunately I won't be able to play until about noon tomorrow, but I did manage to log in and change to a viera, so I'm about good to go.

Decided that I'm gonna take a break from this; well, a payment break, anyway, as I've been paying but not playing :fp: .

I do like the game; at the start of the year I made an effort to learn more about the game from January through March and I did progress - I got a mount and everything! .

But... I struggle with the fighting bit and that's the crux of the game. I love exploring the areas and seeing other players but I have never "got" the fighting and, battling alongside others, I just don't really do what is needed for my role type.

It's a great game but perhaps not for me. I'll focus on F76 and get into Conan as they're MMOs but without the team battling aspect. Bye - at least for now - FF XIV!

Is this free-to-play now up to a certain level or something like that?

Up to 35 on all classes. That'll get you up to the second boss, all the class quests, and getting started on the upgraded job quests.

Unfortunately you're still on the early story there before it properly picks up, and it drops you off at the single worst part of the MSQ.

Seriously, strawberry float that feast section.

Otherwise there are a couple of features missing here and there, but it's mostly a complete package up to 35.

Cool thanks for the info. One of my mates from work is really into this and is bugging me to join.

My progress to 80-everything combat wise is at pace I feel is rather nice, compared to Stormblood 70-all it felt much faster this time.

Mostly doing it because I want the mount as soon as I can, but also easier time to manage with inventory since I'd only need five to six set of gears for all of my classes if they're at same level (or in this case, same level as "next" dungeon)

My Steam says I've been clocking 7000hrs (obviously good bulk of time is afking/leaving it on bg) but that didn't include PS4 playtime so I'm kinda dreading to find out how much time I've actually put in this... oh well

Turns out I can't play this because I've previously played the beta on PS4 which blocks you from playing the new version because of the stupid way Square Enix handle your accounts. If I did want to play it I'd have to create a completely new PSN account and use that. strawberry float that  Deleted and back to WoW Classic.

Decided to pick this up after Watching Jazzem play it on stream (I chucked you a sub, its got my sons name on it AddsyGaga).

Level 20 now. Absolutely love it. I love the world, the jobs are so satisfying to swap between. I am going to upgrade to the proper version when I get home tonight. Is there a Grcade free company? I hope I used that term correctly.

It's great to see how many folk have got into the game recently. I was really into this on PS4 but I haven't played for about two years now. As per my last post here, I found the environments and exploration to be amazing but I struggled so much with battling - I never really understood how things worked or what I had to do. Most online folk were very friendly but, alas, I had a couple of experiences during battling when players were text chatting about kicking me out, and that wasn't very nice.

But still... amazing game!
