I found the game to be very complex and challenging and, after a two-year break, there was no way I was gonna jump in with my old character! .

I've started out as a wee level 1 Lalafell .

Could you not have kept the same character and just started a new profession at level 1 instead?

I got into this a little while back, but don't really have the time to dedicate to an MMO, especially one of this scale, right now. Really enjoyed what I did see of it, even if the combat is a bit on the slow side.

You can re-start or play if you want to, Pedz . The player base seems to have hugely risen in past months.

Could you not have kept the same character and just started a new profession at level 1 instead?...

I could have (I think?), but I wanted to start fresh. I've selected the Mage path (class?) again, tho'!

The recent patch added some measures to auto-kick AFKers, so that should help a lot.

Anyway, Yoshi has commented on the current issues:

"Regarding the Growing Player Population and Plans to Alleviate World Congestion"

Basically putting bandaids on it since things happened so hard and so fast they can't do more. Also semi-conductor shortages making new servers and data centres difficult etc

A good problem to have in the long run, but in the moment, ouch.

I just read through that full message from Yoshi... and it's great! The server challenges are a pain but it seems that the development team are doing all that they can. The issues around getting computer kit at the moment are affecting so many things.

I'd like to start again, but I'd wish there was a group doing stuff at the same time. I feel like I'm missing out playing solo and there's no chat or good fun soloing either. I get bored after a while in MMO's solo it wasn't until I played WoW with my Brother-inLaw that I stuck to it, and when I stuck to it I put in a few years

Data Centre travel is in the works, aiming for September-ish iirc. Regional at first, with plans to do cross-region later eventually.

Oh! Never mind, Patty! I believe that the dev team are working on functionality to allow players to travel to other worlds (I don't know if this includes servers). I think it was meant to be included in the new patch but it has been held back because of the huge influx of players.

Dunno if you're able to right now, but you can currently create a character on six of the twelve worlds on the Europe servers, andretmzt!

Manegd to get in last night! Now a lvl. 9 conjurer on Loiusoix.

Really enjoying the pacing and look of the game so far. Might upgrade from the free version if it stays like this!
