Last patch of Stormblood. In ARR, there were two parts to story in 2.5, same for 3.5 in HW and now 4.5.

It's more or less conclusion of Stormblood, and maybe give some kind of cliffhanger that leads up to Shadowbringers.

lol no new healers for another 2 years. RIP the dream. Only saving grace from this would be if they finally fixed the WHM/AST problem and gave one a significant shake-up in lieu of a whole new job.

Guess I'll just move over to DPS completely, then. Red Mage is still a blast to play as it has about 20 "Press X to style" buttons, and Dancer is a good candidate for a fun class.

Anyway, here's a load of info I grabbed from it as well as various trailers.

NEW CLASS - DANCER - PHYSICAL RANGED DPS

NEW 8-MAN RAID FEATURING NOMURA AND THIS NOMURA-ASS CHARACTER DESIGN

Also some generic enemies because why not?

NEW RACES ARE GENDERLOCKED BECAUSE strawberry float IT - LITERALLY RONSO

At least the new trailer is hype gooseberry fool

I'm surprised we don't get male Vieras -- Yoshi has said he dislikes gender locked. As much as I love idea of playable Ronso like races, I still ain't fan of gender locked. Wonder if we'll get other gender of these races playable in future...

Also sad that Dancers is DPS and not healer, baffling that we only have 3 healers when tank gets fourth role. As long as they made AST fun to use over time and improve WHM it should be good.

Nice work, Met. Looks to be some really cool stuff albeit, as Seven says, it's a shame that some races are gender-locked; I'm not sure why as I don't believe previous ones have been and the game has always seemed to have options for lots of different types of people.

Just grabbed this list of ShadowBringers features from the official site.
> A new adventure awaits in Norvrandt
> Level cap increase from 70 to 80
> New cities to explore: The Crystarium and Eulmore
> Journey through expansive new areas, such as the Rak’tika Greatwood, Amh Araeng, Il Mheg, and Lakeland
> New trials, including harrowing encounters with Titania and Innocence
> New beast tribes: pixies, Nu Mou, dwarves
> A plethora of new dungeons to explore
> A challenging new 8-player raid: Eden
> An exciting new alliance raid series: YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse
> Tackle Shadowbringers main scenario dungeons solo while fighting alongside prominent characters with the new Trust system
> Relive the adventures from your past with your current level and gear via the New Game+ system
> The Restoration of the Holy See of Ishgard ─ In the aftermath of the Dragonsong War, Disciples of the Hand and Land work together to rebuild Ishgard

Even though I'm pumped at gaining it, I've discovered that two folks in my Free Company have earnt every minion and every mount... wow! :o .

I've hit level 35 today and I think I'll take a break from progressing the main story for a bit now. I've discovered new locations during my journey and I fancy having a wander around them for a while, tackling side quests and re-learning how to build-up other skills / jobs.

This game  .

Okay, I have got a dorky hat (a yellow, pointed cone) and, yes, I look like a total dork  . I gotta wear it 'cos it's my highest-rated hat, though :slol: ...

The script can be pretty funny in this. I've just entered Upper La Noscea (specifically, Bronze Lake) and I've been told by the guard that I cannot "bump and grind"!

Edit: "Just like real life then, jawa!" etc.

Dang it, I've just had my first bad experience whilst playing. I was in a "Lord of the Crags" dungeon party and I wasn't playing very well; I kept getting killed. One of the party members posted that he wanted to kick me out :-( . In the end I died (again) and then the dungeon was completed; so I "completed" it even though I was pretty ropey.

Ho-hum. Back on the horse and try better next time, I guess.

I'm about a third of the way through Stormblood now (lv 63) and looking like I might... actually.... get caught up in time for Shadowbringers? :o

I've never been playing newly released content in an MMO in my life. I'm kind of looking forward to seeing hundreds of people running around doing the same quests as me, or discovering boss strategies together.

Also, if nobody has mentioned it yet, the EU data centre is getting split in two in 9 days time.

From that point on, nobody on one of these lists can play with people on the other list.

For the two weeks following this, all world transfers are free, to save people from getting split up from their friends, and then a week after that, the world visit system launches and you can actually go to other servers in the same data centre.

Ooh! Good shout, jiggles! I hadn't realised this was gonna happen so soon. Looking at the player details log in the opening post, it seems that all of us will be on the Chaos server (albeit in three different worlds). It'll be cool when the world-visit functionality is available!

I think I need to log back in later today or else that "other players can be horrible" experience could put me off. Alongside the "I'll kick you out" (with swearing) incident, some other dumbasses were trying to spoil a quest by killing the same beasts that I was trying to and then attempting to block the dungeon entry point. I guess I just gotta remember that the vast majority of players are fine but, as with any online game, there are some idiots about.

Oh, boy, I feel a lot better tonight. I was chatting to the folks in my Free Company and one of them watched me in a battle (dungeon / raid) to see what I was doing wrong. I was doing a *lot* wrong :slol: .

As a Black Mage DPS I should be standing still and quickly throwing in the damage; only moving as defensive moves to avoid attacks. I had totally forgotten about how the Transpose effect works and so my magic power kept on running out quickly. I was moving around too much as I got excited by the battling, too  :fp: .

The guys set up an attack dummy at the Free Company house for me to practice on  . Although I've scraped up to level 35 (over a long time!) I had just forgotten the basics and so the advice and practice will really help. I was a bit grumpy after yesterday but now I feel good about the game again :-).
