Basically all the moves I use are built around it.

I did try that for a bit but the regular damage was appallingly low so it was kind of useless for anything but standing right next to the lightning rod.

At least the moves I use at the moment are all good on their own as well.

I don't have an endgame build video but this is roughly how my approach works with Wow rather than Odin's abilities.

Dianmond Dust and Impulse to Stagger
Shiva dodge and Titan Step for countering/more stagger (Shiva's freeze is brokenly OP)
Lightening Rod/GigaFlare/Dancing Steel to DPS, ending with a Level 5 Zantetsuken. Max by the end of game was 130k :toot: :toot:

Nice damage on that stagger! I feel like I should probably swap out wind-up for a super move that will do more damage, but it's just so fun to pawnch thing.

Do you have any idea what moves raise the stagger multiplier? It seems incredibly inconsistent.

Have 3 Eikons now so getting nice variety of attacks and also just done first few hunts to kick their arse with. Combat is just excellent.

Distinct lack of FF16 merch on sale officially, a few very cool Eikon/Dominant posters on Etsy may buy for games room.

Which is why I made this! I did the map back in January and then framed it a few weeks back.

Amazing! Love that frame as well

Finished this (the main story) over the weekend. Reluctantly did all the sidequests, might start new game+ to craft a certain weapon but I don't know if I can be bothered. For a lot of things that this game does well, it is so lacking in other departments, sometimes it feels like you are playing a ps2 game with a ps5 skin. I have the power to shatter the earth, but my path is blocked by a tree or a wooden door.... :( :(

Garuda seems almost underwhelming in retrospect.

Been a bit distracted by raiding in XIV, but hope to continue a bit tomorrow. Just got to the bit where Odin's dominant Worfs us after the fight with Sleipnir.

I saw one of the challenge stones was active, and stuck my head in, but I think I'll save those for endgame.

Hit credits last night. Very much enjoyed my time with it and echo the general consensus I've seen that it's maybe a little too easy and the sidequests pacing is wild.

Overall I'll probably put it in the top half of FFs, but don't think it'll break top 5. For my nebulous ranking I think it's something like:

14 (ShB > EW > HW > ARR > StB if we're breaking it up by expansion, but really expansion and patch content should be split, and at that point just do it by patch, I guess, but whatever)

4
16
7
12
10
15
3

8
13
(Haven't put enough time into 2 or 11 to judge)

Sequels and spin offs like X2 and Tactics are excluded because otherwise we'll be here forever.

Those who have finished it, how long roughly is it from when you choose to embark on the final mission to credits? I’ve done all the sidequests and hunts, just need to wrap up the ending, but need to know how much time to set aside.

Not long at all if you're 99% done. Can't remember exactly, but want to say about 45 minutes to an hour. It's pretty much just gogogo once you start that quest.

It was about 90 minutes from there to the end of the post credits scene (which was just perfect)

About 20 hours in and my thoughts so far.

- Doesn't feel like a Final Fantasy game even though you have Chocobos and Moogles (summons) in it.
- Combat is great but not used to its full potential.
- Game is so far, too easy.
- Story is fantastic but the pacing is off so it comes in waves. It's also been really predictable so far.
- Love the Characters.
- Not enough enemies in the world map which is also super linear.
- Graphically stunning but some NPC's look bad in comparison especially when talking.
- NPC's always standing in the same spot spouting the same lines every time you pass them.
- Poor side quests, filled with go here go there bollox or defeat these really easy enemies.
- Music is great in places but nothing has wowed me yet like in Octopath.

This is based on what I have played so far. I hope some of my points improve.

Another 10 hours and whilst there are moments of greatness I still don't feel like I am playing a Final Fantasy game. I do love the hunts but wish there was more of an indication as to where to find them, it's a pain in the ass looking through the map to try and find the location first.
