Enjoying this a lot more now. Still not overly sure about the monastery stuff, and being bound by the calendar. Put about 5-6 hours into it, just got the sword.

well still making my way through the story and paralogues just found out that sethas and flayn are actually father and daughter and not brother and sister that was weird, also saw jeralt die and that was sad and it now furthers my suspicions of reha, mind you in my experience leaders of religious orders in this kind of game usually turn out to be evil

Getting in to the latter half of the game now but I'm surprised by how bad it feels to fight the former students from other houses. Their battle quotes have consistently hit me in the feels and then members of my house all spend the next month feeling sad and questioning whether what we're doing is right. Worst part is this is just the Golden Deer path, which doesn't even feel like the darkest potential storyline.

Turned Caspar into a walking armoured fortress :datass:

Brigid is the weakest link in my team. She seems weak, not sure I'm using her right. I was thinking of levelling up her bow and arrow skill so she can be more like a mix of indirect and direct. I dunno.

I just noticed the skybox in the monastery  Better clouds in Ocarina of Time.

I cant find a suitable class for Ignatz. It seems there are always better options than he for whichever role i am considering assigning him to.

Also, i don't know how, but for some reason i seem to be playing this game at half the speed of everyone else. I am just starting chapter 10 and am 43 hours in. I originally fancied playing through again as a different house, but i cant see that happening now.

Great game though.

He's worked quite well as an Assassin for me, now transitioning into Mortal Savant nicely.

That was my initial plan for him, but i have pretty much focused on his reason skills after going after the budding talent in that area. Now he looks destined to be a warlock, but i already have one of those in Lysithia. I recruited Felix, and it looks like he wil fit the Assassin role nicely with a bit more leveling in the required fields.

Ignitz is looking very much like an adjutant for me. Which is a shame, as i really like his story development. Maybe in the late game master classes he can become a lead reason magic user, as it looks like Lysithia will be able to master both classes (faith and reason).

Yeah, his Budding Talent for Reason made his eventual Mortal Savant Role fairly obvious to me, and he's adopted that role well. Lysithea is my Gremory and she is hilariously powerful, regularly getting crits and dealing over 150 damage.

Sniper was going to be my choice for him, but i have 2 others fitting that role now (Claude and Samir).

Great to hear your pace is similar. I was starting to think i am doing something fundamentally wrong. I think it because i am on Hard Classic and its my first FE. I wish i had chosen Hard Casual now. There is still a penalty if i had picked that option as lost units would not be able to gain any more XP / Skill or relationship gains for the remainder of the battle. Ah well, i'm still having a great time with it.

Somewhat surprisingly, Ferdinand has ended up becoming the weak link in my team. Pretty much everyone else in my house tears through anything. Got a bit unlucky on his stat growth. However, he's still been useful as my only cavalry for backup as he covers a lot of distance. And it's not like it really matters since everyone else in my house is great (and I've been recruiting more great units), and Normal|Classic has been pretty easy. Will probably be playing this at least one more time through, so will pick the hard difficulty for those times.

Been liking the story and monastery side of things a lot, and like in Echoes the support conversations have been decent.

Well I’m a couple chapters in to act two geez edlegard war monger much? It’s gonna be interesting to see where the game takes me. Also interesting how several characters have changed with their attire matching their hair, and how some haven’t changed at all. Got to keep all the students I’d managed to recruit bar Ashe so I’m guessing there’s a story reason

Still on part 1. Just realised why Sothis sounds so familiar. The voice actor plays Lin in Xenoblade Chronicles X.

The plot feels kinda unpredictable. So far, it's better than Awakening and Fates, easily. I just hope it doesn't go to gooseberry fool.
