so new game plus is just pretty much just the ability to buy certain things you earned in the previous file that you already earned not including character's stats and items, seems a little redundant to me

It's not just stuff you earned in the previous file. Your renown can go towards: buying support levels you haven't gotten yet, raising your professor rank to a high level immediately (at not much cost), weapon skill, etc. You get a boost in renown gain for it. Also you get some special items. Personally I like it. Nice to have more ways to raise support and make it easier to recruit.

Yeah, I found the ability to immediately boost your professor rank up with renown on a NG+ really helpful. It meant I could do a lot more in the early bits of the game and recruit other students sooner on the second playthrough.

but thats the thing i earned just about all of that in the previous one, bar the support levels for certain characters

Can anyone help with some of the lost items I'm having trouble with?

I'm using a guide for them and am currently in the "Horsebow Moon" month, but the guide says there are two items in the Training Grounds, Gardening Shears and Black Leather Gloves, that simply are not there. I also found a post on gamefaqs saying they were next to Catherine but there's nothing there.

Also, I have an item from this month, and an item from the second month, for Hilda but whenever I talk to Hilda the Lost Item option NEVER appears.

Do those missing items only appear partway through the month? And can you only give items to Hilda on certain weekends?

Cause if you are then you can't recruit Hilda(or so I've heard) if you're black eagles so you can't return the items to Hilda even though you can pick them up.

I'm on black eagles as well and I have all of Hilda's items but they are forever stuck in my inventory which is annoying .

This works the same way with fallen students: I lost Caspar on my first practice battle (not understanding how Classic mode worked) and I still keep getting his lost items. It's v annoying.

I can't imagine how stressful playing classic mode must be. The prospect of losing Bernadette

I lost her during my fight with Black Beast/Mikhail initially. Thank strawberry float for Divine Pulse.

Saying that though, as someone who's terrible at tactics games, I'm finding the battles generally really easy, and I'm playing on Hard/Classic. The first time I felt even slightly challenged was the aforementioned enemy.

It hasn't been too bad for me with the Black Eagles. I'm massively over levelled it seems.

Just beat the Edelgard route .
Overall I like the game. The teaching mechanics make the game refreshing different from previous games even if it make chapters longer than before.
Not sure if this is better than Awakening or not but at the very least this is miles better than Fates.

That said I'm getting tired of the multiple routes thing they've been doing for the past couple of games and I hope the next fire emblem has only one path.
I don't want to play the game three times to understand the whole story.

She basically wants to kill Rhea who is actually a giant crazy psychotic dragon (because we can’t have a fire emblem game without a dragon as the final boss can we)

Edelgard’s ultimate goal after the war is to create a world without crests and nobels
