So I've finally got to Part 2 of this and things have really kicked up a notch. Does the story actually stay the same no matter which house you pick, so if you pick Black Eagles your character sides with Edelgard and the Empire? It's starting to seem like I'll need to play this game three times to get the full story, but it's taken me 35hrs to get to Part 2 so not sure I have it in me to play it that many times

Oh.

I did not realise this. I guess this is when you get the choice to remain with Edelgard?

I have now beaten 3 of the 4 paths on hard mode.
I’m going to do the last on maddening mode on a new save so I can get the special reward.

The level of commitment you need to put in to get the full story is crazy. I don’t think the game was designed to be beaten in such a short time. It’ll probably be at least 3 years before the next main fire emblem game if they insist on making them this big now.

Hopefully they will remake Genealogy of the Holy War, that game was ridiculously ambitious.

3 chapters done on maddening.
I think a lot of you won’t like this difficulty if you try to fresh new game it like I have. You’re hilariously underpowered.

say ive been meaning to ask, anyone know what the deal was with that moment in the cut scene showing the academy where dimitri randomly jumps and the screen slows down while beads of sweat fly off him?

edit: ill take that as a no, i thought i might have been a trope or something

I don't think there's anything deep or meaningful to it. Assuming you're talking about the establishing shots when you first arrive at the Officer's Academy?

Probably just fanservice or you could maybe claim that it's highlighting that his character trains diligently or something. But probably just fanservice.

I mean, there's an unheralded slowmo of Manuela's tits too. I don't think there's a whole lot of subtlety involved in that cutscene.

well that sort of thing is painfully bog standard in video games these days that you just forget about it immediately

Anime tits basically.

I have to say, I found her endearing the more I learned about her. She's a strawberry floating mess, it's something I can relate to

I'm finding that the game is getting easier the more I play it, I'm not sure if some of my characters are overlevelled now. I'm a few Chapters into Part 2 and Dimitri must be killing at least 50% of the units per map, he's unstoppable. I suppose it fits in with his newfound bloodthirst and lust for revenge.

Dimitri’s growth rates were already insanely good (60% strength, 50% speed) but his class bonuses push him to an absurd level of strong. Easily the best unit in the game imo.

I strawberry floating hate that gooseberry fool, it was embarrassing playing Bayonetta on the large screen. Way to reinforce that videogames are for 13 year olds.

It's fitting to Manuela tbh. She's designed to be sexy but once you get into her character you'll find her off-putting as a partner. She tries too hard to be sexually appealing to the point where she has picked up numerous bad habits (unhygienic, untidy, bad tempered, irresponsible, binge drinker etc) that end up scaring people away time and time again.
