Fish breaks teenager's jaw
A US teenager's jaw was broken when a fish flew from the lake where he was floating on a rubber ring, and smacked him in the face.

Seth Russell, 15, was cruising on Lake Chicot in Arkansas on a large ring towed by a boat when a Silver Asian carp leaped from the water and hit him in the face. The boy was knocked unconscious. "He doesn't remember anything at all," the boy's mother, Linda Russell, said.

He is not the only one who has had a run-in with the "flying" Silver Asian carp. Carole Engle, director of aquaculture and the fisheries centre at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, said: "Over the past year, we have had some calls about fish jumping and causing injuries on Lake Chicot."

Sounds fishy to me.

Set phasers to pun.

Is it really a newsworthy story though? No need to carp on about it.

I guess his face looked like a trout once that fish was done with him.

I imagine it would be.

A silver carp can weigh up to 18kg.

So a full force carp to the face would be a real downer.

No, it sure doesn't.

Silver carp are quite dangerous. The size of which they grow too can make them a real problem for health and safety in the fishing sports areana.

Yes, in 2003 a woman jet-skiing broke her nose and a vertebra colliding with a silver carp and nearly drowned, although as the saying goes: "if you gather thistles expect prickles".

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.
