Football Manager 2023 will be available across PC (Steam, Epic, Microsoft Store), Mac, Xbox consoles (Game Pass), PlayStation 5, mobile (iOS Apple Arcade and Android), and Nintendo Switch (the Touch version of the game).

The game will this time include licences for UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League.

More details on the game's features are set to be unveiled in October ahead of the November release.

I've not played Football Manager for many years; my hey-day was in the previous Championship Manager guise. I would like to give it a go, though, and I'm intrigued by the series finally arriving on PlayStation (PS5).

Are you gonna be stepping into a managerial role when the game launches?

I'll be getting it on Switch when there's a price drop. Logged about 940 hours on the '22 version so it's always been exceptional value for money for me :slol:

The PS5 version would be good but you're tied to your TV which puts me off a bit.

Preezy! I knew that our resident FM fan would be in on the new edition!

I was big into Championship Manager albeit that was about 25 years ago  . I did try FM - around about 2004 IIRC - but I just found it to be a bit too complicated. I could imagine that, as with CM, I'd really get into it if it clicked with me, though. I'm gonna wait and see what the reviews of the PS5 and Switch versions are like.

As always, will pick up 23. Only logged 400ish hours on 22 this time round.

I think for next years, I'm going to play with completely regenned players at the beginning, always fancied that and of course, buy a mystery shirt for my main save!

Already preordered. Sunk too many hours into FM22 so it'll be the same for this one.

Looking forward to seeing what new features are being added in, I wonder if the women's teams will be in this edition or if they're keeping that for the big winter update perhaps.

I think last year's did for the Xbox version, but only if you played the streamlined version on PC. I don't know what this year's versions are.

EDIT: Looks like three different versions again - PC/Mac, streamlined console version for Xbox and PS5, and Touch version for mobiles/tablets and Switch.

I've recently fallen down the Football Manager rabbit hole again after managing to stay out of it for nearly 20 years.

Last one I really played was the Champ Manager on the original Xbox. In fact, that was the main reason I wanted an Xbox.

Tried 21 but didn't stick with it - found it hard to navigate, figure everything out.

I''m not playing FIFA now until the next one so i wanted a football fix in the meantime so gave this a go. I used to start with a conference team and try and get them up the leagues. I think when playing 21, not knowing the players made it even harder to get to grips with so this time I started as Everton.

Won the FA Cup in my second season, then the Europa League in my third season. I'm gripped again now. First game that has made me forget about completing the weekly playlist on Forza Horizon.

I'll probably play 22 until 23 is out and then start that with a conference team.

Honestly jawa, if you thought 2004 was overly complicated you'd be better off going for the Touch version on Switch IMO. I was previously an addict of CM00/01 & 01/02, and I dabbled with FM 2004 & 2005 but didn't get hooked on either. I've since gotten into FM Touch 2020 on Switch and it's ideal - as a "simplified" version of the main game it has just as much (well, realistically, a lot more  ) content and features as the old CM games, but with loads of QoL upgrades, nicer visuals, new players etc.

Thanks for the heads-up, Dan - I will go take a look, dude!

I think they usually discount the previous year's edition for a while ahead of the launch of a new one, and then after a while, remove it from the online stores. May be worth wishlisting / dekuing the current / previous one and awaiting a sale? It's what I did.

Thanks, yeah, it seems that FM 2022 Touch on Switch was reduced to £11.99 just the other week! Oh well, I'll keep an eye out.

PS5 version delayed to an unknown date "due to unforeseen complications which have arisen during the submissions and approvals process." All other versions still out next Tuesday.

I tried to play CM whatever it is called on the X Box 360 ages ago.

Controlling it with a controller is very slow. End up selling it.

If they have included mouse and keyboard controls then I'm in. But I doubt it.

I think the xbox version has mouse and keyboard support.

Thanks for the heads up Jawa, but that's still too much for me. I paid £10 for FM22 so I'm reticent to spend much more than that.
