How's everyone doing then?

I won the Champions League and F.A Cup in my first season, both against Chelsea in the final. Second in the league to United by 5 points and lost in the League Cup with my kids in the semi-finals to Liverpool.

Second season now and it's going good... improved my squad big time and am strolling through most teams at the moment. Here's my squad...

Playing Wisla in the Champions League so put out a weakend side if you're wondering about the players selected.

Starting 11 is usually...

Akinfeev
Sanga Toure Lescott Clichy
Walcott Fabregas Diarra Ribery
Adebayor Aguero/Van Persie/Vela

I absolutely rinsed FM2008, winning everything with Nottingham Forest for 5 years in a row, but 2009 is much harder.

Does anyone have any sound tactics they can share?

So is FM 2009 definitely one to go for i used to love the old FM's, i played a few of the old Fifa Managers when they used to be club manager i think due to i enjoyed having power over clubfacilities and things like upgrading the stadium, but FM always felt far better on the footballing side.

I started off unemployed, and took the first offer which came my way, which was Bury in the first November. The first season was a struggle - the squad was awful, and the previous manager wasted most of the loans on rubbish. It took a while to rebuild the squad but by the end of the second season I'd managed to mould my own team. Only Paul Scott and David Buchanan remain from the original group.

Season summaries
2008/2009
20th in League Two
FA Cup First Round*
League Cup First Round*
Johnstone's Paint Trophy First Round*

*knocked out before I took over

2009/2010
6th in League Two (lost in playoff semi final)
FA Cup First Round
League Cup First Round
Johnstone's Paint Trophy First Round

2010/2011
6th in League Two (won playoffs)
FA Cup Third Round
League Cup Second Round
Johnstone's Paint Trophy North Semi Final

2011/2012
3rd in League One (won playoffs)
FA Cup Second Round
League Cup First Round
Johnstone's Paint Trophy North Final

2012/2013
9th in Championship
FA Cup Third Round
League Cup First Round

Current stats

Games played: 249
Games won: 108
Games drawn: 69
Games lost: 72

Players bought/signed: 32 (total spend: £400k)
Players sold: 19 (total income: £1.4m)
Players released: 48

Current squad, very multinational as you can see. My domestic bias is 64% compared to a league average of 90%. Thanks to my wide scouting network. 8-)

And my latest result was my finest yet:

EDIT: City have spent a total of £419m in six seasons, have gone through four managers, and are yet to have a single trophy to show for it.

I'll probably attempt what Spinny has been up to soon but for the moment...

My all conquering Man Utd side, my 2nd season. Spent 15million on Akinfeev, 24million on activating David Siva's release clause. First season I used a diamond formation with wingers, this season I've pushed them right up with the attacking midfielder, it's been working well beat Chelsea twice (in the Community Shield and Super Cup) and my 2nd XI beat Derby 4-0. I actually have nothing left for any more transfers, I've got 90k left on wages should I need to fiddle about with players deals.

It is the opening day of the 2014/15 season. Carlisle vs. Bury (me). We're in the 95th minute and it's still 0-0.

Image

Carlisle are in blue, Bury are in white. Carlisle's number 32 has just cleared the ball. Note the location of my keeper. Guess what happens next. :fp:
