It says on the back of the box that this game requires 2GB of ram. Seen as my laptop is shite it only has 1GB of ram.

Is there any way I can get this game to run on my horse?

Add another GB of RAM to your laptop.

That can't be a prerequisite. You sure you're not reading recommended specs? I'll bet you a tenner it'll run on 1GB. Download the demo to find out!

Completely stripping out the playable leagues will probably also help. Aswell as having the smallest database of players.
