Yeah I was thinking of seeing if anyone was up for a certain challenge.

There's quite a few that could be done, (bring former Premier League teams back to there glory days), win the Continent's Equivalent Champions League.

Or like you said, we pick (possibly a league two) side and have a set amount of seasons to do as much as we can with them.

Yeah, I've seen them done usually on a point based system for Promotion, Cup Wins, etc etc etc. Some good ones I've heard about are Plymouth, PSG, Sevilla and so forth...might set it up over christmas/new year time, if people are up for it.

Yeah definitely as I'll only have my Mac Book over Xmas period when I'm back down visiting the parents so it'll be some good FM2012 time to do.

Plymouth is quite a good challenge as they are almost immediately in Administration from the off and alot of time you'll get taken over within the first couple of months.

Don't fancy PSG cause it's basically a Man City game in a different league.

I'll be up for it.

And cheers JC  The title thread does make it sound like Football Manager has been made by Capcom and is a new demon hunting game

I ordered this from Gameplay for £14 and it arrived this morning. It's sitting there mocking me as I type this. I have 2 coursework assignments due on Friday and an exam on Monday though. :x

In the "random gooseberry fool that happens" stakes, managing Switzerland U23's in the Olympics.

Funnily, the GB team is all English bar Joe Allen and Gareth Bale. The over 23's are Rooney (fair enough), Milner (I suppose..) and Fraser Forster?

I went from the 1st of December to the 15th of March without losing a game. Then up pops an away trip to Villa Park where I get demolished 6-1. :|

Next up, the second leg against Real Madrid in the Champions League and the FA Cup 6th Round, with matches against Man City (who are top by a point with a game in hand) and Tottenham away after that.

Tough period for all my players to have gooseberry fool confidence.

After finishing 4th in the league, found myself in the CL Playoffs against...Arsenal. After an epic 3-1 win at our place, just ground out a 2-2 draw in which we basically scored our only chances and they missed about 15

Struggling with Portsmouth at the moment. Was up to 10th, now struggling in 17th and lost the local derby 3-0. :x

Was thinking about the challenge last night, why not Sim until the last day of January of the 1st season and however is bottom of the Premier League you have to take over. Only deadline day to sign a couple of players to change your faultering season and then points could be awarded on different goals/what is achieved for season 2.

That could work quite nicely actually. Although it would have to be a standardized save, I imagine?

yeah a simple upload to the interwebs and a guide on how to add it to your game would be sufficient.

My game as manager as NTFC is improving. One of my strikers was complaining about not getting enough game time, threw him on in a JPT game to shut him up, he's now my (and nearly the leagues) top scorer  Solid midfield now as well, back four is improving and I'm climbing up the table. Have a feeling my awful start to the season is going to hinder what I can achieve though.

No idea what I was worried about.

Beat Madrid 3-0
Newcastle 4-0
Man City 4-1
Tottenham 2-0!

Now i've got another two games against Tottenham in the Champions League Quater Final...

I've almost finished my first season. It's taken ages, but I do only really play in spells.

I'm tenth and I'm looking going to finish there (only one game left). We've been playing much better in the second half of the season, it's just a shame we took so long to get going. Also, I've done really badly this season against the bigger teams. Aside from beating Chelsea at the SoL we've lost nearly all those games. Which doesn't bode well for my other remaining fixture, the FA Cup final against league leaders Manchester United. Not confident at all. :(

Gonna try hard to have a clear out in the summer. There's a few fringe players on £30k wages I want rid of - Fraizer Campbell, Elmohamady, Kieron Westwood - and a few I don't want come back from loans as well: George McCartney (I can tell he'll be hard to get shot of), Riveros and Gyan. Should be able to get a good price for him at least. I've got a couple of others like Nosworthy out of contract as well and Bendtner is going back to Arsenal after his loan so it'll be all change for next season. Might try and sell Cattermole as well, I don't like him. I'd like Bendtner back but he's scored 20 goals this season so it'll cost big money. At least Owen has started scoring now.

Been playing a game as Charlton the past few weeks. Managed to get promoted out of league 1 easily with the help of a few great loan signings (Ross Barkley  ) and the strike force of Wright-Philips and Hayes banging them in. Had a pretty radical squad shake up for my first championship season, letting a lot of my first team go and signing a lot of players on free transfers (O'Dea, Petrucci, Kevin McDonald and Joe Lewis for a few). Also got another few loan signings like Mellis from Chelsea and Briggs from Fulham. Realistically I said to the board that I would get a mid table finish this season, but after 14 games I'm not top of the league  . Part of me doesn't want to get promoted this season as I fear we'd get torn apart in the prem and need to let some more dead weight go and get a few other guys in. Other issues include the dire financial situation at the club. Paying back more than £250k per month in loans and paying at my wage budget maximum means I'm now £5m in the red :fp: . The only good part of promotion this season would be to help the financial situation at the club.

Just finished my third season and yet again the Champions League eludes me.

Won the Premiership on the last day, again.
Won in the FA Cup Final
Lost in the League Cup Final
Went out to eventual runners-up in the Quarter Final of the Champions League... Tottenham.

I bought Ballotelli in January, was transfer listed by March.

Got a bunch of players i'm after that haven't moved to big clubs yet like Jack Rodwell, Kyriakos Padadopoulos, Mario Gotze, Ganso, Lucas Moura, Leandro Damaio, Neymay, Gareth Bale and a few more, but they all want crazy money for 'em.

It's either buy one of those or a bunch of generated youngsters.
