Playing a game with Vitesse, and in my second season, managed to get drawn to my Reserves in the Dutch Cup...

Away...

So 14 people turned up...

I won 2-0 (First team)...

Probably my most random moment, even if it probably happens a lot if you manage a big Dutch team (many reserves seem to play in that cup)...

Goal bonus of £33k.

I get really uncomfortable with massive contracts in this game. I still operate with values from 5+ years ago. I'm not a good big club manager.

Yeah I didn't do well in the contract negotiations. I'll likely pay him almost £20m a year after bonuses.

I can echo this sentiment. Being a top club manager and negotiating contracts is painstaking, just can't bring myself to pay the money that people ask. Monsieur Wenger doing it right all along..

Just installing this.

I'm not a huge football follower, so are there any players I should be looking to buy, hidden gems etc?

Depends who you play as. There are websites full of information on how you should start but the info on a lot of them are out of dates because they were written before the January transfer window update.

That said after the first few years the game becomes about finding the best youth players and building a team of future superstars.

That player Cutty, strawberry floating hell. What I want to know is, if you got him for that price, what did you haggle them down from?

Edit: Just won my 1100th match as Droyslden manager yeah 8-)

Quick question for you all, what is the most caps you've ever seen a player get on this? I believe I may have someone who is going to destroy any record you lot can come up with.

Giorgos Samaras, 165 caps (and only 30 goals lol).

He's 37 and still score regularly for my Celtic team.

Getting a new laptop soon, just want to make sure what i'm thinking of getting will work with FM2012 easily...

intel core 1.3 processor
2.4GHz
4GB RAM
Intel® HD Graphics 3000

Is that alright? Will I be able to have lots of leagues etc with a system like that?

Iker Cassilas pretty much always retires with 200+ caps in FM2012.

I know someone who created a player in an old Champ Man game with the sole intention of getting him as many appearances as possible. He played in every single game for about 25 years and he made sure he did replays etc where possible to ensure his appearances went up.

I'll try and get some screenshots from him.

So quit my 2016/17 wrexham save for good after the game decided that the club would be relegated from league 1 no matter what that season and started a new game with everton seeing if my experience in the 130+ hour wrexham game will help me do better at everton.
I have to be honest Nikica Jelavic is a right arsehole in this game, plays gooseberry fool, is aggressive in private chat and doesn't give a strawberry float in team talks.
