I’m not surprised with Moyes. He was only on a short contract and the West Ham owners have their priorities in the wrong places.

I'm sorry if this is already well-known here. But just in case not: here's David Squires' latest Guardian football cartoon.

There's been some brilliant ones of late, a particularly amusing favourite investigating the home life of Clive Tyldesley. I'd recommend you check out the archive.

Pellegrini's agreed a deal to takeover at West Ham, if he can do anything close to his work at Malaga that's a massive upgrade on Moyes.

Irons! I’d be surprised if we got him and still would have like to keep Moyes but this would seem like a pretty good appointment for us.

Pelligrini would be a superb appointment for a club like West Ham in my opinion. A lot more inspiring then jumping back on the mediocre British manager carousel.

Would have been nice to have given John Motson the commentary gig today but there’s a whole series of programmes on BBC2 tonight, including Countdown to The Full Motty. :datass:

This is why I was up in arms about Jones being in the England squad. He's twaddle.

Jones is such a clown. If he had tried to take the ball with his left foot instead he might have got the ball.

Does Hazard ever miss penalties? He's got to be one of the best in the world at them. He always seems to fool the keeper into going the wrong way.

Martin Keown seeming very confused by that entire passage of play. “Referee had no choice but to give the red card” and “united are lucky still to have ten men”. Wut?

Lukaku should get on the pitch and skin Cahill. Then the circle will be complete.

They changed the rules where a “genuine attempt to play the ball” is a yellow.

I think that was an attempt. A very bad attempt, but an attempt nonetheless.

I wonder what odds Paddy Power are offering for England ending up with 10 men in the first game of the World Cup...
