Liverpool are putting a serious team together but if they don’t sign a proper keeper it’ll be for nothing.

If Jose had wanted him it would have been the easiest deal to pull considering they share agents and Fabinho has been linked with us since 2016. We’d have no issues paying what Monaco would have wanted.

I don’t think there was ever a time when Jose wanted him despite always being linked with him. He was fixed on Matic or Dier last year despite Fabinho constantly being linked. The Fabinho deal would have been the easiest to do out the three considering Chelsea weren’t keen on selling to us originally and Spurs would never sell Dier to us.

I suppose the question is why didn’t he want him? No way is Dier a better player and Matic isn’t getting any younger.

This is true. Dier was Mourinho's number 1 choice but Spurs would want ridiculous money. Matic threatened to go on strike and go public with a transfer request if Chelsea let the thing drag on any longer (It wasn't Conte's decision to sell him either).

He obviously wanted Matic because he was one of the best DMs in the league and Mourinho trusted him. Kante and the rest of Chelsea's midfield really suffered without him. Bakayoko has been a really poor replacement.

Have you bothered reading the article you are linking to? It makes no sense. The author says Liverpool have been tracking him since last year and the father below says the following.

United boss Jose Mourinho had fought to take the athletic midfielder to Old Trafford last summer, with the player's father saying at the time: "We have talked to Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, we have even been approached by Barcelona.”

They talked to everyone apparently. Yet nobody made a move...

Matic has been Mourinhos best signing. We going for Fred apparently who was picked ahead of Fabinho in the Brazil squad.

You should listen to your own advice and stop commenting on other clubs when you have no clue.

Mourinho had no interest in Dier. I guess Potch was lying too. We all just making it up because it hasn’t come from ITK Photek.

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foo ... 1.html?amp

Mourinho wanted Dier to force the transfer because Spurs weren’t going to sell. He said the exact same thing to Bale last year which was caught on camera.

Of course Matic was gonna have to force Chelsea to sell him to a rival. Chelsea wanted to sell him to Juve. Matic had to do something drastic as at the time Chelsea were pissed off because we signed Lukaku.

Oh and this is coming from Fabinhos own mouth.

Contacts have been ongoing for a few weeks. I spoke with people at the club, with the manager, they gave me a lot of confidence. I wanted to go to a club that really wanted me, who showed great interest. With all that, it was easy to say yes. I thought about it a bit and I said to my agent that he could enact the deal. I am very happy that this has been done at the start of the window… I had two real choices, not just interest. I will not speak about other clubs. It is done, I am a Liverpool player. I had already decided.

The other club was Atletico Madrid as the Vice President of Monaco said they made approach for him last week. So maybe Photek needs to get better sources.

Mourinho shares the same agent. Mourinho even managed him during his time at Real Madrid. If he had wanted him he would have got Mendes last season or the year before to secure the deal for him. There wasn’t strong interest from Mourinho to secure the deal and it depended on other targets.

I see also Raheem Sterling is going to be the target of the press this summer. Him getting a tattoo is front page worthy for some reason.

I meant the part about Matic threatening to go public with a transfer request and Conte not being the one to sell him. I guess Mafro works for Chelsea in some capacity.

Managers don’t have a total say in the ins and outgoings at Chelsea. Do you think Conte wanted the likes of Drinkwater or Barkley? This is one of the reasons he has been pissed off about because he wanted Roman to back him just like Jose did beforehand.

Matic would have had to have done something drastic for Chelsea to sell to us. They weren’t best pleased when we beat them to Lukaku. So the last thing they probably would have wanted is to sell him to us.

That bale goal! :o

To rub the salt in, you just know footage of that goal will be replayed thousands of times whenever the Champions League is advertised/spoken about/shown.

It's a silly tat (though apparently has a wider context relating to his father's death and a promise to only ever "shoot with my feet" as a result) but it's clear that some sections of the press, particularly the Sun, have it in for him because he's a young black person.

If they genuinely thought it was inappropriate and wrongly glamorised guns they'd not have given it front page coverage.

Calls for him to not play for England unless he has it removed or covered up prove those criticising him know nothing about football, as it'll be hidden under his socks the entire time. No one would ever have seen it, if they hadn't done this.
