We are excited to announce that starting today, Fortnite Battle Royale is available on Nintendo Switch. We can’t wait to board the Battle Bus with all of you Nintendo fans!

The game will be rolling out to all regions via the Nintendo eShop today. North America is live now, and the game will be available worldwide at 5:00pm ET/ 9:00pm UTC.

On Nintendo Switch, Fortnite Battle Royale is the same game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile. Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates. With Switch, you can squad up with your friends in the same room or around the world, and even play on the go.

Apparently, if you've ever logged in with your Fortnite account on PS4 it can't be used at all on Xbox One and now Switch, so progress + purchases can't be carried over.

Sony's "For the players" tagline somewhat in contention here...

That's insane. Genuinely horrific. Really pleased I didn't try it on PS4 before I decided to cancel Plus. I imagine that's a pretty sizeable chunk of gamers now locked out of playing portably on the Switch. I really hope journalists and players give them hell over this, whether the fault lies with Sony, Epic or both.

I would blame both as epic force you into using their account. Rocket League doesn't have this issue.

Think it's safe to say it absolutely is on Sony's end, honestly I'm surprised I hadn't heard about it before with the Xbox One clash. Is awful aye :\
