not a massive fortnite fan but I've been playing it with some of my kids recently as they want me to play it with them.

I jumped on with them now and there's some kind of event thing with some rap music. I don't like this kind of music, but it's really really cool with whats going on.

Also, I used to stream H1Z1, PUBG and Fortnite at various points. I have a clip from back in Fortnite where I blow up a friend with a grenade and in PUBG I run up onto a roof I saw him as he said 'hi' I shot the strawberry float out of him. I react without thinking sometimes

The clip from Fortnite was in a youtube compilation of epic things (it had both really great shots, or kills and epic fails) from Fortnite just after it happened, no idea how it was on there I never submitted it, but it was funny, shame those millions of views for the video resulted in literally nothing for me

That's the problem with these compilation videos. Most of the time they won't even say where the clips have come from and don't encourage people to check them out.

Just been sent a press release saying that Fortnite brings in $2.75 million per day, on the iOS version alone. Insane.

Is anyone still playing this out of interest? I'm incredibly late to the party, but I downloaded it last week out of curiosity and I'm hooked. I liked the laid-back Team Rumble (50v50) when I was getting to grips with things, but now I find myself in squads or solo most of the time.

Squads can be infuriating when everyone in your team decides to bugger off to where the best weapons are (along with everyone else), and then proceed to get wiped out within minutes. Then you either look like a dick by refusing to travel and help, or if you try to help in a no-win situation, you die just as quickly. I've actually had a couple of 'solo' victories in squads when my team got wiped out in the first minute and then bailed. Other times you get to the end and it's you vs a full squad. It's a luck of the draw thing. Sometimes you get lucky with your team where everyone helps and it's smooth sailing to victory.

I still can't build worth a damn though. I treat it as a shooter and just build shelter as needed. It's annoying when it's down to the last 2 or 3 and it becomes a who can build the highest structure competition. Although I was down to a 1v1 last night with one guy who was a far superior builder, and I managed to get a sweet head-shot in to win the game.

I'm tempted to try out CoD: Warzone due to the lack of building, but I'd really miss the colourfulness.

This is the clip via the youtube video, so it's pretty old. I have no idea how it even got in there.

Never played it and never intend to play it. Everything I see of it makes it look like everything I hate in multi-player games.

Crafting, bunny-hopping, annoying children, dabbing, modern music, stupid strawberry floating dances and microtransactions. Oh lord the micro transactions.

I'm sure it's a perfectly fine game, but it's not for me in the slightest.

EDIT: Basically this...

That is a rather unfortunate kill.
__________

I'd be tempted to dive back into this a few sessions, since it'd be very different to how I remember it. Didn't they add sports cars or something similar in the last update?

Yes, you can now drive (most) vehicles dotted around the map. The ability to shoot from the passenger seats means I've been playing a tad more aggressively in duos and squads (that is if I'm ever lucky enough to be in a decently coordinated team) and for solos I just like idly listening to the radio stations while there's nobody around to bother me.

From my experience, there's only one or two different sports cars (with nitrous) in the game but actual vehicle chases are such a rarity that you don't really need them.

Game was a lot more fun back when the finale wasn't always a build-off. I like the building outside of combat, for traversal and for preparing a defence, but mid-combat building just turns into something I don't enjoy.

Doesn't matter if vehicle chases are a rarity, I'd still dive into them just to drive. Even the sports cars, just to see how high I can fly. Then go boom down the side of a mountain, no doubt.
