Yeah. I only started playing bc there's a Xbox app quest where playing the game via browser = 100+ points a day. (With the 3 bonus modifiers activated - linking social media account to Xbox account/app, having 7 or more friends and a active Game Pass sub bumps it to 250 pts.)

(If you didn't know, MS points are awarded for engaging with certain MS related things and can be exchanged for all sorts of stuff such as gift cards and more Game Pass time.)

I was enjoying knocking around on the new season before I went on holiday.... Waiting to get the crew pass till the character changes then I'll get it to get the character and the season pass etc, got to maximise the amount you get for your money

I'm doing the same. Waiting till at least November though. The next crew skin is naff as well

Yeah I'm not massively fond of it but don't want to wait November long so I'll wait for the naff skin lol

It's ultra naff. I like the oddball sea creature skins they have up today.

I can't believe this game is 5 years old and you still can't change your reticle colour, make your character transparent or side swap when aiming down sights.

I die so often in close range fights because my character model covers up who I'm shooting at.

Whilst this is the first season I haven’t got the Battle Pass since C2S2 I do like the new chrome mechanics for getting around. They updated the parts of the map that we’re getting stale and the new loot rotation is the best it’s been in a long while. Bye Bye Charge SMG!!

There are theories floating around that this might be the last season of Chapter 4 and we will get a new island in December, effectively making a new island an annual event. I’m not sure how I feel about that as the current one is only really starting to hit its stride.

I personally think they need to improve the core gunplay rather than keep flooding the game with needless changes.

The only reason they have to change things so often is because the core gameplay is so stale and frankly fundamentally broken (and I'm just talking about no build here). Apex has remained engaging since launch with 1 new map a year and one character every season because the gunplay is so well designed. It's variable and engaging.

Grenades are terrible which means you often damage someone and then they just hide behind cover and peek you when you to push them.

The meta has been shotgun quick swapping since launch. You blast someone with a shotgun, swap to a rifle or SMG and finish them off. Its literally all that happens in solos unless you catch someone in the open because as I mentioned, grenades are trash which means you can't push people out of cover without running towards them.

They need more quality of life additions like sprinting and mantling to make the gunplay get old less quickly. And they need to move away from bloom based recoil. It feels strawberry floating terrible to use and it's another reason people rely on shotgun quickswapping so much, because it takes bloom out of the equation. I genuinely don't think I would have got into the game if the MK7 wasn't in the loot pool when I started.

Mastering recoil is much more fun and engaging in the long term than relying on RNG to decided if shots are going to hit.

Killing people with the charge smg was my favourite passive aggressive troll move :lol:

I think it was best used when you were chasing / being chased at close range around or in a structure and had a charge ready to go when the target was *there*, so yeah, not the best all-round weapon but I has a lot of fun using it once I got the hang of it. BUT! Having said all that it was still the first one I'd ditch if I got a ranger, decent shotty or DMR :lol:

I made a kill a couple of days ago by running away through a petrol station, then shooting the pump as I was pressed. Very satisfying!

I genuinely got killed like that the other day, hope it wasn't you :lol:
