IGN - 9

Like a big bucket of Hot Wheels brought to life, Forza Motorsport 6 is first-order car porn for the automobile obsessed but remains an accessible and exciting racer for those who just want to drive fast in something red with a horse logo on it. It’s spinning its wheels in a few areas but what’s here is undoubtedly some of the finest racing you can find on console and easily worth the upgrade from Forza 5.

Gamespot - 8

As merely the second installment for the Xbox One, Forza Motorsport 6 not only keeps up with the high bar set by Forza 5, it capitalizes on that foundation of quality. The Mod system and the weather effects are reasons enough for Forza 5 enthusiasts to seriously consider this sequel and the abundance of difficulty and assist options makes Forza 6 an immensely accessible driving simulation for newcomers.

THE LOSS OF TOP GEAR DOESN'T PREVENT CONTROL IMPROVEMENTS FROM MAKING THEIR MARK ON FORZA

With the loss of some of its personality, Forza Motorsport 6 sometimes feels like a little less than the sum of many much improved parts, and there are certain quality-of-life changes that feel increasingly overdue. But these are only distractions, bumps in the road that make Forza feel "just" great when looked at from a distance. And in the playing, Turn 10 feels like it's found its line even more effectively.

Metro Gamecentral - 9

The best Forza Motorsport so far and arguably the best driving simulator on consoles, with stunning visuals and a mountain of highly compelling content.

Destructoid - 95%

For me though, it was enough to outright bring me back into the racing fold. I found myself racing for hours, racking up credits, ferociously buying new cars to add to my garage, and cursing at my friend's Drivatars. Forza 6 is the new king of simulation racing.

EGM - 9.5

Forza Motorsport 6 is a welcome shot in the arm for the series. Easily the best entry the franchise has produced, Forza 6 introduces tons of new online and offline gameplay that should make players want to stay in the driver’s seat for as long as possible this fall.

The Verge - Just Buy it

Still, these are minor quibbles in the scheme of a truly magnificent game. It is beautiful, extremely deep, and has enough modes and features to keep you entertained forever. (I haven’t even mentioned the multiplayer modes, including Forza 5’s "Rivals" and full-fledged leagues that are matched to your skill level.) If you liked Forza 5, you will love 6. Heck, even if you disliked 5 there’s a good chance you’ll like 6, if for no other reason than the fact that it’s the new standard-bearer for graphics realism on the Xbox One. As I said from the top: just buy it.

GameReactor - 9

From the deeply integrated rival system via the weather conditions and the increased car count, this racer is filled with small ideas that each have a big impact, improving on the already excellent foundations. Forza Motorsport 6 is the best racing simulator currently available on console. Gran Turismo 7 has its work cut out.

Gamesradar - 3 out of 5

This is a true showcase for Xbox One in every area except the racing. Inconsistent difficulty, random payouts and way too many dull events seriously spoil the party.

Press-Start - 10

The Forza franchise is a prime example of a franchise that not only builds upon its strengths, but also learns and adapts from it weaknesses. Whilst Motorsport 5 served as a stepping stone onto current generation hardware, Forza Motorsport 6 excels and takes what the franchise has learned to form a racing game that is not only full of content, but also challenging and incredibly addicting. Building upon the foundations laid before it and applying a fresh new layer of features and visual effects, Forza Motorsport 6 might be a serious contender for 2015’s racing game of the year, if not the prime contender.

US Gamer - 5 out of 5

As technically polished and fully-featured as any racing game out there, Forza Motorsport 6 transports you to an incredibly realistic racing world where there's a huge breadth of choice in terms of cars, tracks and types of driving experience. Pretty much whatever you're in the mood for, Forza Motorsport 6 has you covered.

Forza Motorsport 6 features weather, night racing, 450 cars and 26 locations

Forza Motorsport 6 will be getting a huge amount of information at E3 and much of that has already been published to the Xbox Japan official website. The game will feature many fan-requested features including weather effects and night time racing as well as over 450 cars at launch with 26 unique locations to race on.

Forza Motorsport 6 is quoted to run at 1080p and 60 frames per second and features wet weather, 3D puddles, and night racing test your driving skills. Cutting-edge ForzaTech (which Microsoft recently trade-marked) engine technology powers the unrelenting action and stat-of-the-art-physics at simulation speed.

We reached out to Microsoft for comment and they informed us that "Forza Motorsport 6 will run at 1080p and 60 frames per second on Xbox One, and you will be able to learn more about the game at E3."

The game will be the ultimate car fantasy for fans featuring the most cars of this generation. Forza Motorsport 6 comes with over 450 cars on launch day, all customizable with working cockpits and full damage. The game includes 26 locations including Daytone, Rio and many more.

As with every Forza Motorsport, the game will include tuning, painting along with AI-Cloud Powered Drivatars and 2-player split screen racing and for the first time ever, 24-player races.

Forza Motorsport 6 Is Coming – Starring the All-new Ford GT!

The new year may have just begun but already there is major news to announce for the Forza world: Forza Motorsport 6 is coming!

Today, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios officially announced Forza Motorsport 6, which is in development and will be arriving exclusively on Xbox One. The news came alongside the announcement of the worldwide debut of the all-new Ford GT, which will serve as the cover car for Forza Motorsport 6. In addition, Ford’s performance vehicle line-up will appear in Forza Motorsport 6. This includes the GT, Shelby GT350 Mustang, and the F-150 Raptor, debuted by Ford earlier today at the auto show. As First in Forza vehicles, Forza fans will have the opportunity to drive these cars when they debut in Forza 6.

“Just as Ford has pushed the boundaries of car technology in GT, Forza Motorsport 6 will embrace that spirit of innovation as our most technically advanced racing simulation to date, offering a fun and realistic automotive experience for both car lovers and gamers,” said Dan Greenawalt, creative director at Turn 10 Studios. “We’re excited to unveil gameplay at E3 in June.”

The announcement of Forza Motorsport 6 kicks off 2015 and the ten-year anniversary of the Forza Motorsport series. This year promises to be the busiest and biggest in Forza history and we’ll have much more to say about Forza 6 and more of our exciting plans in the future. Stay tuned to http://www.forzamotorsport.net and the official Forza Hub app on Xbox One for all the latest news!

Forza 5 was okay at best I thought but felt a little bare. I'm hoping the transition between Forza 5 to 6 will be like that of PGR 3 to PGR 4 which ended up being a big step up from PGR3 despite 'only' having a two year dev cycle. I know Greenawalt doesn't seem to like stuff like night time races and weather but i'm hoping Turn 10 have listened to a lot of fans and put stuff like that in. I hope they try something new with the career mode as well. Whether something like being prt of your own team, building up F1 style rivalries with other teams or drivers. Just something more than what we got from F5's career mode.

Forza is the call of duty of car games - annual releases with hefty dlc full of content you've played before. How can they get away with selling the same cars over and over?

Pretty sure that they've been on a two year cycle since Forza 2. I much prefer it to GT 's ridiculous dev cycle.

it's been out every two years but there was also Forza Horizon. So since 2005 there has now been 8 games from the Forza brand so that is quite a few .

Forza Motorsport (2005)
Forza Motorsport 2 (2007)
Forza Motorsport 3 (2009)
Forza Motorsport 4 (2011)
Forza Horizon (2012)
Forza Motorsport 5 (2013)
Forza Horizon 2 (2014)
Forza Motorsport 6 (2015)

But that makes every game very expensive: £40-50 for the game, another £20 or so for the car pass plus £15-20 for the vip pass for the extra cars they hold for ransom, AND £25-30 xbox live for the year means you're paying over £100 a year for most of the same content over and over again. I had been seriously considering getting an xbone with the money I got from Christmas and my birthday, but then realised I still haven't finished Forza 4, Horizon 1 or Horizon 2 on 360, which are similar enough to me to not be worth the hundreds of pounds to keep up with the series.

Suits me fine tbh. One year sim, one year arcade, one year sim, one year arcade..

Unfortunately as I was late the the bone party Ive barely played 5, so will have to crank some serious hours into that before 6 arrives.

Just don't buy them. I'd rather have a good game released every two years than GT's autism based method. God knows when we'll see a GT on PS4. (Disregarding the fact that Forza is a better game anyway).

I'm not someone who is mega-mad into racing games so I wonder does having a Forza / Horizon game every year lead to the regular fans drifting away or is it a franchise like FIFA and Call of Duty that offers sufficient new value to sustain the excitement?

This will be the real next-gen sequel, I'm guessing. Like the jump from Forza 2 to Forza 3 last gen. 5 was clearly a rushed, bare-bones project, so I'm hoping for fuckloads of content in this one. And yes, I too would like weather, night races and any other stuff that's been plainly missing from the mainline series thus far. Also (and this will never happen), no season pass bollocks.

Weather?

Good point actually. It needs weather and variable times to even be on a level with most other sims now.

I really don't think the jump will be all that big, Forza 2 to Forza 3 was a massive step up in terms of graphics, I don't think there can be that kind of jump again.
