That looks awesome. The cars look similar but the level of detail in the environment looks to have been ramped up.

Getting dangerously close to Far Cry 6 levels of familiarity now…

It is looking incredible. My only worry at this stage is the game looks a little sparse. There doesn’t seem to be loads of cars or racers on the road. I’m sure in race it will be fine. But exploring a huge map if there isn’t much going on, isn't much fun.

I started watching the first 8 minutes video then stopped myself, because why spoil the surprise? In the grand scheme of things its a one-off sequence of a few minutes that will be dwarfed by the rest of the game, but even so.

That controller just looks ace!

I love how Microsoft delivers such cool designs for their Xbox controllers; they know how to create excellent colourings that suit the form. Their controller design lab capability is excellent, too. I wish that Sony were as good in this area.

Unfortunate that there's not going to be a demo for this one, but with it being on Game Pass from the off, it doesn't really need one. Full game can speak for itself.

Playground Games previews the multiplayer features and modes that you'll get to experience in Forza Horizon 5.

Today's stream went over many of FH5's biggest online features, including Horizon Open, Horizon Tour, and Horizon Arcade. Here's a quick rundown of the features we saw during the show:

Horizon Open is more accessible. Horizon Open is the new hub for FH5's online game modes and races, splitting everything into four categories (Open Racing, Open Drifting, Playground Games, and The Eliminator). Horizon Open has apparently been tweaked and altered to be more accessible and less punishing to players, encouraging fun all around without as much of a focus on winning.

The Eliminator is a Battle Royale mode added to Forza Horizon 4 in 2019, and it's making a return in FH5. Score upgraded vehicles, hide or explore the map, engage in intense head-to-head races with other players, and attempt to survive until the end.

Horizon Tour lets you connect. If you're ever lost for how to meet new players and join races, Horizon Tour is your answer. This mode is a rotating collection of events and themes, and lets you easily connect to other players in the world. You can participate in co-op races with up to five other players against AI Drivatars, and join convoys to move between races.

Horizon Arcade is mindless fun. Horizon Arcade is a collection of fun mini-games that inhabit the online-connected world of Forza Horizon 5. Players can join or leave whenever they want, participating in a wide variety of casual games like smashing piñatas, hitting airborne bullseyes, playing a version of "Simon Says," and more. It's also easy to stay in the fun, as well, as players can join convoys and move between Horizon Arcade events for as long as they want.

Plenty of other great features. The stream also touched on plenty of other awesome features in FH5, including the contextual LINK system that lets you communicate and connect with other players quickly, Gift Drops that let you send or receive cars to random players (complete with friendly messages and more), Kudos currency that lets players be rewarded for friendly or helpful behavior, upgraded AI Drivatars for an enhanced racing experience, and much more.

That Kudos is actually a pretty cool idea.
Looked into buying the VIP pass along with the treasure map as I usually and it came to about £18. Not bad considering how long I’ll probably spend playing it.

Can’t wait for this. Totally fell off the FH train with 4 because the structural changes jarred so much, but now I know what to expect, I’m ready for it, day one.

Just as with Hot Wheels Unleashed, I'm supporting this with the highest tier available. The Horizon games have been great fun to play, with a lot of fun in both the base game and expansions. And this one is expanding what FH4 gave us, including the custom content. All it needs is the ability to create tournaments/playlists and we're all set.

It would be good for some people if Kudos could go into a negative balance. Though I suppose that would encourage them to be maximum twats.

Yeah, I’m getting the Ultimate upgrade to go with the Game Pass edition. Been converting Reward points into credit. Should easily have enough to buy it by November. Plus early unlock.

I've pre-ordered the GamePass super upgrade.
I know I'll keep popping back on this for ages so having new content is always nice.

I was looking at grabbing the premium edition, but its 90 quid. I'll get it on offer when it's cheap..er.

I’ve seen a few people buying through the Icelandic MS store for a lot less. Keep an eye on hotukdeals.

I am not sure how I feel about buying dlc before the game comes out. However, having been late to gamepass I got Forza horizon 3 and 4, and Forza 7 dlc and they are incredible to go with the free games themselves. The dlc is well worth it, and adds a lot of content. But I picked them up after it came out for less than £10.

I am super excited for Forza Horizon 5, i think it’s going to be excellent. But I’ll probably play the basr game and then wait.
