I've started doing the Cross Country races, and there seems to be something off about the difficulty. For most races, I play on Highly Skilled. I win easy, but knocking it up to expert seems to make the front car too quick to catch. These cross country races though, I'm finding even on Highly Skilled it's a struggle to get top 3. The front cars just seem so much faster than me.

Yeah. Agree. I spotted this. They have so much more grip and better on the brakes on the off road stuff, whereas I am struggling to get power down. On road, it’s relatively straightforward on expert and I was pushing unbeatable sometimes, but i wasn’t enjoying it at unbeatable.

It was a similar case in FH4. The rubber banding AI is designed to go fast for like 70% of the race then fall back - only they get so far ahead when they go through the destructive stuff it doesnt register to slow them down in the same way as the player, so it compunds the gap between the AI and the player. There are alot of lazy design choices being made at PG.

With cross country races, the only was to counter it is to get the best car with the best tune, handbrake turns, know the where the corners are, and slide early.

Yeah, I'm noticing a huge difference when using different cars. The 2021 Bronco got me some easy wins at highly skilled, but I tried the Forza Edition Nissan Fairlady and trucks are outpacing me in a straight line.

I managed to get the destruction event done. There was about 5 or 6 of us. Pinatas too. Got it with about 2s to go.

Last night I wasted loads of time trying to get in a convoy through the Forza Discord, but most of the time we couldn't even get the convoy going. Everyone that was invited just got the little spinning circle to show they were not all in the same session. If the leader started a Forzathon, it would then slowly add people to their session, but half the group would only be getting in with less than half the time to go. Such a mess. At least the convoy leader seemed to be able to get us into actual races okay, so might be good for any future GRCade groups attempting the Trial together.

The cross country racing in FH4 was the same, GCE is absolutely right.

I won the Warthog in a wheelspin. But the tyres were flat so i had to put some more air in. The master chief might need puncture repair kit for infinity.

I think I’m ready to give up with this now. Everyday there seem to be more game breaking things than the day before. They’d be easier to ignore if they didn’t insist on locking rewards behind fomo challenges which can’t be completed because of the reliability of the service they are providing.

This might go down as being even worse than FH2.

Enjoying the new season, but 1 season and it can have a break for a bit. The winter brings snow in the volcano and lots more standing water in the areas. Muddy, abd its cool.

Also, I haven’t been trying to get the xp boards but when I see them, I grab them. There was one in a lake, but I couldn’t see how to reach the castle at the centre. Winter brings mud and the lake is drained, so it’s accessible.

I had one speed trap left to 3 star, one that is in a stream. I figured it was just a case of waiting for a dry season, but nope, all this time I just needed something with a higher ride height.

The Trial this week is a bit mad. You can take in anything from B to X class, and I think it matches the AI up per person. If everyone went in with A/B class it would be a lot easier but everyone picks X.

It’s a joke. The AI matches the car so everyone just needs to beat their equivalent. Round 1 is impossible. You have to win rounds 2 and 3, and 3 is the easiest as it’s a street. Me and the team I was in proper fluked it.

Made a right mess of a turn near the end of this one, but I think the AI had been slowed down by some bumping from one of the other players and lets me get a jammy 3 car pass on the final turn

I cannot find a Horizon Tour or a trails team for love nor money on Matchmaking, dunno what's going on with it, I would say maybe it's me but Halo is working fine.

I could find trial Groups, arcade is still gooseberry fool. Didn’t try horizon tour, but it has worked previously. It’s a bit shonky, it’s not you.

I've just tried the playground and that wasn't working to well either, Eliminator has been fine every time I've tried to play it.

I couldn't challenge people when I played Eliminator previously, it just tooted my horn. Guess that's me not getting the thing for eliminating 2 people in one game in this week's playlist.
