I feel like i'm not the target audience for this anymore, I don't give a gooseberry fool about teaming up and doing challenges with people in the open world, and while it looks amazing (but probably not on my PC :slol: ), I just want to mess around with cars on my own.

I question how much detail like individual cactus needles will actually be noticable when blasting along at 100mph.

To be fair, you can still get to messing around in cars on your own. Just swap to the offline mode. The focus might be on joining people together through a mix of modes, but they've never forgot that people just want to enjoy the game on their own.

Mexico is looking fantastic here, and I can't wait to get exploring it. From what was shown, it seems the game is moving back to the Horizon 3 style of progression, as well, which is good. Except this time, we'll be the ones to find the locations rather than already seeing them on the map from the start. So long as there's drift zones, I'm happy.

I rarely play the multiplayer stuff but have always had a fun time on my own. I've had no problems when I have played MP.

The 4K version they put up after the event is amazing. During the actual stream, the video quality seemed pretty low to me, like not even HD.

Mexico wouldn't have been my first choice for a location, and things like car springboards and hotwheels type tracks was perhaps a bit too whacky for me too, but I know this is going to be amazing. I spent the entire last gen being jealous of Forza Horza and since getting my Series X on launch day, I've played 2, 3 and 4, and never once did I feel like I was getting sick of any of it.

They have made this Trackmania with licenced cars. I'm okay with that tbh.

I expect so and I will definitely be doing that, it was just I felt like this watching the demo:

H4 ran alright on my pc and looked great so hopefully I can keep to that level of detail with a decent 60. I kind of fell off H4 before they added the level creation stuff so glad to see it's in from the start. I'll probably throw down for the ultimate edition but its the only series I ever do that for so it's fine

The £36 add-on bundle that bumps the Game Pass version up to the same as the £85 Premium edition is very welcome.

Yep. I'll probably do this this time around as it makes progress quicker and gives way more cars to toy around with. Can't help but fear this will be the approach increasingly used on gamepass, though: here's game X with your subscription, but pay ££ more for the full experience kind of deal.

The one game that looked next gen and definitely my most anticipated xbox game this year. Not liking the multiplayer focus, but get used to it with game pass titles as microsoft push micro transactions and dlc to make up for the massive losses on the service.

Got evidence that MS make "massive losses" on the service?

Is it wrong of me to be pleased with the Mexico setting, as I can now bathe in weeb tears over the fact it isn't set in Japan?

4k/ 30fps? Nicely hidden, and expect the 60fps mode to be at 1440p. Who is even going to play this at 30fps? This is why spreading resources with the series s is a bad idea.

Bit sad that ray tracing is only mentioned for the photomode :slol: They've spent so much resource on rendering the cacti they can't do reflections in the proper game?

The mention of kudos makes me hope they're at least trying to make a decent spiritual successor to Project Gotham Racing.

No ray tracing either? Microsoft need to show their hardware advantage. Gt7 is coming out next year and will be 4k/60 with full ray tracing.

Kudos has me excited and think this will be the best game in the series.

I was more impressed with this than GT7, GT have always been so dull too. I actually prefer my racing games with guns :slol:

This looks good, but then all the other Horizon’s are great. I’m looking forward to it, be interesting to see what will be new, and whether ‘kudos’ will just replace existing points.

I’m not convinced horizon needs ray tracing given the pace of the game and the resources required for RT. I’m happy for them to spend their resources on resolution and frame rate with existing tools for shadows and reflections, will still look great.

Forza motorsport (8) is coming next year with full ray tracing and it's also not cross gen so nothing to 'hold it back' as you like to say.
