Out of interest, do you guys perceive the S1 and S2 classes to be faster than in FH4? Not in terms of speed, but in feel and responsiveness? I'm not sure if it's just the looser handling overall (again, generalisation) but those classes feel a bit more balls-to-the-wall than I remember.

Can anyone confirm if my thinking regarding AI car tuning scaling is correct please. In FH4 it seemed that AI cars would always match your tuning, or be within +-5 of the tune of your current car. Usually it would round up to the nearest 5 or 10.

After witnessing AI cars seemingly fitted with rocket boosters in several races in FH5, I scanned the starting grid. In three different car types - tuned at A735, A745 and S1850 - I was noticing AI in cars at the top of the relevant tuning category I.e A800 and S1900.

That must be a bug surely? With +50 over me they are just not catchable without dirty tactics. That never used to be the case in FH4 right??

Edit: Just discovered that barn finds still can’t be outright removed from your garage. Also, unlike FH4, you can’t even auction them in FH5! >.<

Ive not played enough S2, but S1 seems similar. There is the factor that tyre choice / surface is significant and affects responsiveness more, Stock tyres also seem alot worse - making handling very sluggish on upgraded engines.

I dont remember FH4 having overtuned / unmatched PIs for the AI drivers. But i usually go into races with a tuned car with optimised PI. So most of the races ive experienced doesnt address your question. EDIT - thats a very long "I dont know"

I think more work is needed on the AI. Rubber-banding is definitely a thing now that I’ve done a few of the long-haul, finale races. That’s not something I’ve spotted in previous games.

I’ve also spotted AI cars slightly missing checkpoints and not getting penalised.

Spotted more line-ups with crazy tuning disparities too

Those issues, added to the start-line rocket boosters and perfect AI driving lines makes some races extremely frustrating on higher difficulties. More apparent in road/street races than off-road races in my experience.

I also don’t get why we can never get pole position. It’s very frustrating staring in the middle on the pack, wrestling over lines and corners, while the AI in front boosts into the horizon.

Overall I’m really enjoying the game, but there are definitely some annoyances.

Rubber banding has always been a thing in Horizon. It’s most obvious when you do those boring showcase events

I think you're mistaking rubber banding for heavily scripted.

They are always tight races no matter what.

They're the exact same thing. Both predetermined by how well/poorly you're doing, the scripting only impacts the visual side of things during a race. You will never win a showcase by more than 1 second difference, that's always been the case.

I was referring to rubber banding in the long-haul finale races where it's possible to build up a considerable lead. I've been alone at the front without any other racers in sight, tanking along, and then over the course of 10 seconds or so the AI makes up a significant amount of distance behind me for no rhyme nor reason. It's only happened once - maybe twice - so maybe it's some weird pathing issue.

Yeh I know what you mean. I highlighted the showcases as it’s most obvious there especially visually.

In Forza you can all be driving the same exact car with matching ratings and they can slow down/catch up with you at any point when the game requires it.

The best way to stop rubber banding in driving games is to look behind you a lot to prevent the AI boosting

So in other words, tonight is the night for me to 3-star the remaining speed challenges before the reduced grip messes things up for a week or so :fp:

Edit: Bugger, that tweet was from yesterday so it's already started

Trial this week is super simple. Difficulty is all over the place on the trials. Did it 1st time.

That’s a common thing. Best to do the weekly in one session otherwise you have to start from the beginning.

How D&B label Hospital Records became a ‘Forza’ mainstay

It all started in 2014. As drum and bass' brief honeymoon period with the mainstream faded away with Wilkinson and Pendulum's popularity, so too did the listener's appetite for buying CDs. With Spotify paying a pittance and only the die-hard bassheads snapping up vinyl, Hospital Records was in trouble. Thankfully, Goss soon got a phone call that would change his label forever.

"I got a call from a long-standing friend of mine, Kyle Hopkins. He's a drum and bass DJ called Kid Hops and a super knowledgeable music collector who found his way into the senior music staff team at Xbox."

"As Forza started to take off, " Goss continues, "they needed music for the game's radio stations. Hops kind of floated this idea past us and we jumped on it. Just the pitch and the prospect of that project, it was really exciting."

I’m finding Porsches pretty great this time round. Spyder, 911 GT3 RS, 728 Carerra and 04 911 GR3 can all be tuned to be very grippy AWDs. Those mentioned are my Hyper, Track, Modern and Retro, respectively.

The S1 tuned Carrera especially made the street races pretty easy.

I tried most of the Ferraris and wasn’t impressed. Again they suffer from being too restrictive in terms of upgrades.

I'm a big fan of that Lexus in the weekly challenge. Downloaded a tune for it and it's a joy to drive.

This isn’t a troll but a genuine question - is the game fixed yet?
