Looks to have a more realistic real world look than Forza 3, hopefully they can keep a constant framerate and avoid any tearing.

Codename 47 wrote:Those screenshots certainly look stunning, but i wonder, will the graphics look that good in proper races or just during that Kinect walk around mode.

It definitely won't look that good in races, but it should be able to match those screens in photomode.

Now that Forza 4 is officially heading towards its fall finish line, we’ve only just begun talking about the game. We can’t wait to share all the juicy details of what we’re cooking up for all of you and, over the coming months, we’ll be bringing you regular Forza 4 updates here at forzamotorsport.net including the latest news, in-depth feature details, developer podcasts, and, of course, lots of eye candy in the form of videos and screenshots. This is the biggest Forza Motorsport yet, after all, and we’ll have plenty to talk about.

As a side note I would suggest renaming the thread. If those shots are in-engine i.e. actual gameplay, then XBOX360 just had a massive power boost from somewhere. I'd imagine them being Photo Mode or Kinect walkabout mode shots. Nice touch being able to open doors, bonnets, hoods etc...

The trailer suggests a few new additions to the franchise. Rally and night-time racing seem to be the major ones. I hope they get Spa and Bathurst tracks in too...although Bathurst is less likey i.e. not as popular. Saying that they included the official Australian V8's so there's still a chance. Philip Island would be nice to see as well. Lovely track.

In-engine doesn't mean gameplay (in-game), Photo Mode is in-engine.

8-)

I've been looking at the NeoGAF thread and the GT40 shots look amazing.

Comparisons are null and void until we see final engine pics, of the same scenarios.

Its no good showing photo mode/kinect mode compared to race mode etc.

That lighting model looks years ahead of GT5, as well as the tarmac textures etc, amazing.

If that's in game I'm well impressed. Turn 10 have a studio twice the size of Polyphony digital and they also outsource 3d modelling work so they have the resources.

Yeah, a complete waste of time. I mean the photos in GT5 for example bear little resemblance to an in-game race. There's all sorts of filters & shenanigans at work.

Is the GT a premium car in GT5?

Pretty pathetic to be comparing at this point especially as photo mode shots in Forza 3 are not representative of in game models!

So does anyone have any idea what car is actually in that GT screenshot other than it being a Modern GT?

This is why game should have less cars in them.

Plus, whoever took the photo may well decide to purposefully take a shite shot to try and discredit GT.

Again, comparisons are null until F4 is on shelves.

That comparison is completely pointless as Forza won't actually look like anything like that in-game, and you can take much better pics in GT5 than the one they've used.

I can't see Forza having better looking cars, due to a number of factors. Even if they had the time, the number of polygons required would have to mean trade off's elsewhere - even more so if they want it running at 1080p.

I think it's the resolution that may have done in GT5 & led to the copious amounts of screen-tear & lower quality environments (especially when put next to PGR).

Well that's not a very good comparison i.e. Photomode/Kinect walkabout compared to a in-game shot.

Nevertheless Turn10 really have improved the lighting for Forza 4 and it looks great.

GT5 isn't anywhere near true 1080p as in 1920x1080, it's more like 1280x1080.

Also GT5 photo mode is also nothing like in game either.
