PostFox News 'attacks' the BBC. Again. And The Guardian. Again.

Fox News Vice President John Moody wrote:“The world’s verdict will be harsh if the US rejects the man it yearns for.”

I had to read this headline in The Guardian, a British left-wing newspaper, twice, to make sure I wasn’t misinterpreting it. But sure enough, there was columnist Jonathan Freedland telling Americans how to vote. He said that, since Gov. Sarah Palin’s nomination at the GOP candidate for vice president, he felt at first “pessimistic.” That, he informs us, was quickly replaced by indignation as he saw that… people liked her!

Another fine America-hating British institution, the BBC, paid for a poll of 22,000 non-Americans to ask them who they wanted to be president. Guess what? Nearly one in two prefers Barack Obama. Only one in five wanted John McCain. That leaves 30% who had the right answer: they don’t know who should be president of our –- not their –- country.

Four years ago, a British writer made more news than he intended when he said that U.S. elections should be open to citizens of the whole world, since Americans had shown they weren’t smart enough to pick the right candidate.

Here’s a news flash: we don’t mind hearing what you think. But we still decide who will run our country. Not happy about that? Bit of hard luck.

The hatred Fox has for the BBC is quite obvious, from the ever 'Fair & Balanced' Fox News. The network that purposely blurs the line between fact & opinion depending on who is anchoring the programme at any one time.

The BBC just need to say "Grow up" then continue with their work. Swat aside the little gooseberry fools I say and get on with work!

Rupert Murdoch wanted Sky News to become more like Fox News. James wasn't having any of it, thankfully.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_News_C ... troversies

In August 2007 a new utility, Wikipedia Scanner, revealed that Wikipedia articles relating to Fox News had been edited from IP addresses owned by Fox News, though it was not possible to determine exactly who the editors were. The tool showed that self-referential edits from IP ranges owned by corporations and news agencies were not uncommon.[60] Fox edits received attention in the blogosphere and on some online news sites. Wikipedia articles edited from Fox computers from 2005 through 2007 included Al Franken, Keith Olbermann, Chris Wallace and Brit Hume.[61][62]

On the last bit, they have a right to be angry. No, the rest of the world shouldn't be able to vote for the President of a country they don't live in, and have no experience of the culture and way of life. It's like us voting for the leader of some obscure country we've never heard of - we don't know who'd be the best for their attitudes.

The BBC writer was probably a columnist who was just showing their own opinions. I'd say Jeremy Clarkson but he doesn't write for the BBC, and he DOES write for The Sun, which is owned by...you guessed it, RUPERT MURDOCH.

And the US government (let alone it's citizens) would obviously never express it's opinion of the leaders of other countries. Let alone overthrow democratically elected leaders and replace them with pro-US despots.

Games and Stuff.

If you can read this, you're too close.

The BBC is the biggest News Gathering and broadcasting entity in the world, Fox 'news' is a side piece to their entertainment industry. They are just bitter.

And as far as I'm concerned the Guardian - in their way - is just as biased as Fox (although undoubtedly not pandering to stupidity and simplifying things).

Well to be honest anyone other than George Bush will be an improvement, wont it? Oh no! I said something about who I'd like to be President! And I don't live in America! How wrong of me.

The Guardian should just shut up as its whining makes people vote the other way. See the 2004 US election and Boris Johnson's election.

The Guardian makes brilliant toilet paper. Lots of it too.

Jaxley and MM have this issued nailed for me.

At least Fox News demonstrates the few benefits of having a public-funded broadcaster like the BBC. Not that the BBC is anywhere close to perfect or deserving of its excessive tax burden it lumps on us, mind.

Obama Rocks. I'd rather have him running the UK than the clown that does at the moment.

The Guardian is great. Informative, well presented and doesn't treat you like a total idiot. Yes, it is a bit leftist, but to be honest that's almost a public service in a industry so flooded with right wing opinion.

And sudoku rocks.

The Guardian's G2 section had a hilarious cover explaining the LHC today. I think today anyway...
