PostFriday 5th September - Googly Eye Friday

Googly eyes, the epitomy of cute, are being celebrated this friday by not just one game, but two seperate titles that are both highly anticipated and likely to be amazing alongside cries of 'aw' and 'bless' from both female and excited child alike (and possibly Hexx).

What are these two games? They are of course Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise, sequel to the surprisingly intricate animal attracting and gardening game from Rare and Spore, Will 'Sim' Wright's video game epic that chronicals your creatures journey from single cel organism to galaxy conquering super power.

Will you be joining the irresistably cuddly animal party? If so which title? What has got you excited? And aren't they just adorable?

For the record, I'm buying Pinata and my girlfriend is picking up Spore.

I'm getting spore, been pretty interested in the game after watching the conference video released years ago. I can't wait to make my own little freak and seeing how he reacts to the world!

Won't be buying either at launch.

Despite liking the first game, I still haven't played enough of Viva to justify buying the sequel.

As for Spore, I'll wait for the reviews and see.

PCGamer gave it 91%. But it is an exclusive review...

I'll be getting Spore, possibly the Galactic Edition from Game.

I have two last achievements to get from Viva before friday, then I will consider myself ready to take on the second game. I'm just looking forward to being able to share a garden with people, it was the only glaring omission from the first. Well, that and a silly limit on how much fence I could have.

Unfortunately not...

I'll begin with Spore. I'm not a PC gamer. At all. That was easy wasn't it?

As for Viva Pinata - I really want to want to buy it, but there's been absolutely nothing shown from previews and news that says to me that it's different enough from the original to warrant a purchase. All of this Vision Cam support means nothing to me, as I don't own one and have no plans to. The desert and snow stuff isn't enough for me either, simply because it's just a few more pinatas and ground options. Nothin' special.

I won't be buying Spore as I've not had a gaming PC for a few years now.

As for VP I'm not buying it because I don't want to. I did own the original but while it was good, it didn't take long for me to lose interest and it seems silly of me to buy a sequel of a game I lost interest in.

Every time I read about Viva Pinata TIP I cry a little inside that they assigned a team to this rather than a sequel to Perfect Dark Zero.

Is it really out next week?!

VP2: for sure,

Spore: probably not right away. Whether I shall cave in when I see it in the shops I have no idea but I've plenty to keep me busy now.

The Pinata team didn't even make PDZ, they were previously the Banjo team I think, or an off shoot of them at least. And yes it is out next Friday, pretty soon but the first game will be two years old this December (wow, that's a scary thought).

I've pre-ordered Viva Piñata 2 from GAME. As for Spore, someone said they'd buy it for me, so that's that sorted.

I loved the first Viva Piñata, it was a nice surprise before Christmas. I never normally get on with simulation games like that, but it had lots of charm. I've got a vision camera so I'll make the most of the game.

I recently upgraded my PC so it should run Spore nicely. I've watched a few videos here and there but other than that it's going to be a surprise.

Whether or not they'll get played or not is another matter though - there are lots of other games out very soon (or games that need finishing) plus a new course... I'm going to be pretty busy.

I'd like Spore but games are the least of my worries right now.

Unless it gets panned by everyone (unlikely), I'll be picking up VP.

I just get the feeling that VP suits portable play a little better - and with so many other games out at the moment, I'll likely stick with the DS version. Especially as IU is looking increasingly like a keeper.

I'll go for Spore, but not for a while, i've got far too many other games to finish. Damn my excessive buying.

For me Pinata is one of my Sunday games, by which I mean it's a great game to just relax with. Sit back, watch my garden working and not have to worry about much, and while I will be getting Pocket Paradise VP 2 sounds like it will just expand on the first game and make it even nicer to watch and play in ways the DS couldn't do.

Other Sunday games: Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing.

Spore, but my lack of current finances will prevent me buying this for a month I fear
