She might not deserve to die (debatable) but if she stays that fat then sadly she will eat herself into an early and very very deep grave.

Fatty = no good.

Agreed she doesn't deserve to die ... but at the same time I wouldn't exactly feel sorry for her.

For a guy who reviews chocolate you seem to have quite a thing against fat folk

I remember seeing fatty at the Oscars. I thought she came across as very friendly and fun (if a little thick) in the interview. Her arms, though :fp:.

I find it a bit hypocritical that a young anorexic (or very skinny) girl would never get a role in a Hollywood movie because it's a bad influence on girls, yet someone as dangerously overweight as that girl is, is moddy-coddled and sheltered from any negative criticism.

It is not okay to be that big, it's not okay to be anorexic either, but I find it sad that the two are not treated in the same way - calling someone out on their weight is a horrible thing to do, yet celebrities who look underweight are given so much gooseberry fool in the media - it's ridiculous.

Sorry for the rant, what I'm saying is: really fat people shouldn't be allowed in the spotlight, it's just as bad an influence on kids than an anorexic model or some gooseberry fool.

I thought she was aged about 16-20, not 27. Which is a way of saying she looks young for her age but also that she's had enough time to lose weight cos she quite big. I see those flabs and have the urge to shrink her via exercise, if only a little bit. A bit like Hurley from Lost. Because there's so much of it, if I was that fat it'd be a total joy to try to lose it, I wouldn't know where to start.

I don't think it's quite the same comparing the appearance and criticism of super-skinny woman in the media and their affect as role models to that of a fat person.

I don't think it works in quite the same way. The pressures of being really thin and sexy transcend more than just one particular actress and envelop all of the media, from films and TV to magazines and newspapers. Fat isn't treated in the same way and there's no encouragement to be fat (quite the opposite, when loads of daily papers or celebrity magazines go on about the latest fad diet). There is a desire in teenagers and young girls to be eternally thin or losing weight; there is no desire to get fat, so I fail to see how the appearance of fat people - who have got where they are because of talent and probably had to fight hard, in the case of acting, to get roles (not rolls though lol rofl lmao) - is going to promote unhealthy living. It's not like this lifestyle is intrinsically fixed in with their success. Unlike being thin and the like, where you constantly here how girls try to be thin to be more "successful" and social accepting (especially when it comes to being within the media).

A fat actress being successful shouldn't be excluded from the limelight. I don't think anyone young and influential watching her would take it as a cue to suddenly starting gorging themselves. She's hardly a dangerous role model in any way.

1) No little girl is going to see her and think "I want to be more like her".

2) No little girl is going to see her film.

3) While it's not okay to be that big, it's also not okay for it to be brought up when she's on TV by the interviewer.

4) I didn't realise Jeff Goldblum was still alive, not because of that rumour they mention either.

I think it's more like if there's a really fat girl who is morbidly obese that sees this other grotesquely huge girl being a successful film star they might think "it's ok to be this big, pass me some more doughnuts!"

Parksey, you make a good point, but as Preezy said there's an issue of people being influenced/told to be proud of their weight, when they most definitely shouldn't be.

Also, I think without a doubt it's more socially acceptable to be very overweight than very underweight, people will tip-toe around the subject of a friend's weight if they're fat, whereas if your friend was really skinny you would probably see it as your duty to say something - but that's somewhat a different argument.

Very concise point Luke, when you put it like that it makes you see how strange that concept is.

Roddick is a great guy. You should see what he's like after losing matches; always gracious in defeat.
