My partner finally got the platinum earlier this evening, then immediately accidentally triggered the emote for falling over on your back. It's a never ending curse

I'll be shocked if you don't have at least one of the stones you're after by the time you reach the end of CFA. (I looted loads in CFA but can't remember which version.)

Good to know I should be finding a stone soon then :toot:

That said I've headed back out of that area now on another diversion I remembered that defeating one of the recent bosses gave me another medallion half which allowed me to access another area from the grand lift so I'm now in the Consecrated Snowfield. Being a holy place I'm sure nothing bad will happen here... :dread:

I think there are also a couple of those stones you're after there

On a sidenote, do we need to spoiler tag everything still at this point?

Yup. Other than a couple of bits (I never did find those bastard summoning snails) I really liked it.

Falling over emote seems apt after getting plat.

Did watching them play not make you want to reconsider giving it another go yourself?

The wife is out this evening so I've finally got a chance to get back onto this, not played it since my Baleful Shadow defeat.

Had a merry old time on this last night:

- Completed the Ravine-Veiled Village so opened up that alternative route to Altus Plateau, not that it was needed but always nice to feel like I'm making progress.
- Defeated a couple of Magma Wyrms, one by Fort Laiedd and the other in the aforementioned tunnels, the former of which led to the ultimate achievement of my gaming career... getting a sweet Jar helm off my buddy bro Alexander :datass: :datass:
- ran about like a lunatic in the Capital grabbing runes and avoiding enemies, some of those knights that patrol everywhere are ridiculously hard to beat, just not worth the effort :dread:

For Baleful Shadow, there's a piece of scenery that he gets stuck on..

Keep it between yourself and him and you can just run in and damage him when there's an opening.

I'm talking about the coffin by the side of the water, near where he spawns in
.

Made the fight a fair bit easier for me.

I'm aware of a couple of cheese moves for him, yeah, but for some reason I want to beat him in proper combat (more or less :slol: )

Feel that he deserves an honourable death, a soldier's death.

Might give that Ash of war a look, feel like I've become a bit reliant on my Moonveil's Transient Moonlight ability and it would be good to mix things up a bit! :toot:

Yup. Helps keep things interesting. I'm keeping my "gravity god" build for bosses, but going for dual wield swords when exploring. (Despite getting smashed by a knight in Stormveil bc I couldn't break his stance :x) Will also try my whips out at some point in same build seeing as they weigh next to nowt.

Well it took me 7 attempts this evening but I finally managed to defeat the Baleful Shadow :toot:

Cheesed the strawberry float out of him after the first 5 failed attempts, honourable death be damned :slol:

Then managed to defeat Astel, Naturalborn of the Void on my first attempt which is just typical of this game. Lesser enemies are frequently far tougher than the legendary ones.

Think I'm now pretty close to finishing Ranni's quest, which is nice.

Nice work! I must admit that Astel was actually one of the few bosses in this which gave me some hassle so well done on that win!
