In the end I glitched the bastard off a cliff because strawberry float whoever designed that banana spliting fight.

Three days trying to beat the wanker so I'm glad he's strawberry floating dead.

Worst boss fight in the game so far by a country mile.

Probably old news to most of you, but if you add SEEKERS as one of your clan passwords (it's Souls YouTuber VaatiVidya's clan) every few minutes you'll get a rune boost when someone in the clan defeats a shardbearer or becomes Lord.

Does that work if playing offline? I don’t play with online enabled as fed up off NPC invaders so don’t want a real person who is miles better at this game than me invading too.

Also, how/where do passwords get typed in?

You don't need to play offline to avoid PVP - unlike previous games it is "opt-in", you can play online with no risk of being invaded.

I feel no shame whatsoever about jumping over the wall. My one regret is I forgot to use the gold fowl foot item to boost my runes.

Made my way to Miquella's Haligtree now - another gorgeous location!

And boy do they absolutely throw runes at you by this point, I have no idea how people don't end up at similar levels to where I am now - runes be spilling out of these boys like haunted piñata's!

I was getting there, slowly but surely. But I would have ended up hating the game if I'd stuck at it much longer.

I had the first phase down no problem, even without the NPC summon (Torrent was more help than he was overall), but it took me so long to get to that point. The damage he takes reduces in the 2nd phase, which combined with his AOE attacks, massive rolling and ridiculously hard to avoid ranged fire attack meant that I was rapidly losing patience with it. I had easily spent 4-5 hours already on the wanker and I was beginning to resent it.

So I found a "cheese" strat which basically involves getting him to phase 2, then riding Torrent off a cliff at a certain point while mashing R1/RB. Eventually he follows you off the cliff and dies.

No shame. strawberry float that guy.

So Melina burnt the Erdtree and now I'm in Crumbling Faram Azula and I think I might have bit off a little more than I can chew. Round about 95 level wise and I'm getting demolished by some of the enemies there.

Think I'm gonna go back and clear out some earlier areas for a bit. Get a few dungeons and other things I missed and get myself well into the 100's before I push on.

I'll also be adding that SEEKERS password as well I think. Get some boosted runes.

Go into MP menu and you should see some blank fields on the right of the screen. Top slot is for co-op play password. Fields under it is for clans and you can have multiple clans. (I have grcade and SEEKERS.) Clan messages and phantoms will appear with a circle around them.

Play online. It's worth it even for the slight invasion risk.

What is it with the game continuing to throw Golden Seeds at me when I've already run out of uses for them? Give me something useful!!

You can only be invaded by another player if you summon another player to help. Summoning NPCs or using ashes won't give you an invader.

NPC invaders will always invade at certain places until you beat that area boss.

What Mori said - if you don't summon other players to help you will never get invaded

Yup. And it's not like you can use them in NG+ either.

Oh yeah, and it's a beast

This Haligtree area is so good, expansive, beautiful, fun to explore and with some nice challenging enemies to boot!

Always love it when they start basically shoving out things that were minibosses, or at least significant fights, before as regular enemies!

Really? It was probably my least favourite part of the game, like the Great Hollow turned up to 11.

I should add by the time I got there I was getting really sick of the game.
