What I do is, I rinse an area as much as I can on my own, and then I stick on one of those Things You Probably Missed in X videos to see what hidden away goodies I didn't see, kill or loot.

I tend to go for "What do I want to do/get?" then dig into how I do that.

For example I wanted to get a decent sword. So I dug into the wikis, looked at a few build guides and got a general idea of where I needed to go and what I needed to do to get it.

Despite all this I think I've remained relatively unspoilt for later areas. I know a couple of the things I'll be seeing as I progress the story, but I don't too much. Which is good.

I think I'm ready to push forward with the main questline now. Feels like I've been doing side-stuff ever since I beat Raya Lucaria and that was weeks ago.

I'm in the same boat. I did a pretty epic thing, woke up in a totally new place and then... I just fast travelled back to main world and have been pootling about doing optional stuff for about a week now. It's too much fun not to! (I'm gonna move back to the Snowfield tomorrow and *then* definitely go back to the wee main story zone I left. Definitely. 110%. Yup. :shifty:)

EDIT: gooseberry fool. No. Wait. There's quite a few bits of Haligtree I know I've left unexplored and, or loot at. Gotta do that before Snowfield!

But, yeah, on my umpteenth death I said sod it and started running past the rot zombs and those *BASTARD* SNAILS. And twatted the boss of that section on my first attempt :toot: Then put my name down to help someone and got two shotted   Couldn't leave it at that :slol: and so put my name down again and this time I DIDN'T go running in like a Leeroy and we beat her comfortably.

Met up with Millicent again and so I'm glad that's one quest I haven't managed to screw up.

haha! Its true in the last stages they literally reward you with ancient smithing stones left right and center, in fact I still did a lot of exploring but for me same as lyndell, I found that having the sites of grace activated and then exploring properly after worked better as a strategy for me, and I felt more free to explore without the fear of having to do a lengthy section all over again.

Whatever works for you is the way to go! Personally, I'd only leave that as the final option because, for me, I like the whole tension of exploring unknown corners where who knows what danger is lurking and the exhilarating feeling connected to that of *finally* finding a sight of grace after seemingly going ages and ages since the last one. PHEW! (But I totally did do the complete opposite of that in a couple of spot on Haligtree :P Legging it FTW!)

You absolutely electrocuted her with those gravity bolts.

SOK: Zap! Zap! Zap! Zap!
Mimic: Zap! Zap! Zap! Zap!
Malenia: Your strength... extraordinary...

It was a good strategy & well executed! :D

Ta!

I've been playing with that build for a few weeks or so now. It's how most boss fights end up. (Stonebarb Cracked Tear helps.)

That attempt took 30 minutes. (Felt like 60!) It was a mix of worthy attempts and getting pretty much two shotted  Thankfully I'd picked up the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman (Enormously boosts physical damage negation) a little beforehand and that helped me turn the corner. Though I still did my best to screw up :slol:

Best of all the ash/weapon scales off STR and DEX, so if you're still melee you won't have to respec. Though I do carry a couple of INT boosting talismans which allow me to use the weapon properly. (I should get around to fixing my low INT to free up those talisman slots :fp:)

I think I'm something like level 175 now, I've got stats coming out of my ass!

I just took a quick sneak-peak at the required steps to finish the main storyline and I am still a fair distance away from being close to catching a whiff of the main storyline. I'm about 63 hours in I think, fully expecting this to take me at least that long again to see the end of the game.

THOSE dickheads in CFA. Got 'em or 3rd or 4th attempt. Mimic kept skinny occupied, while I went to town spamming Geavity Bolt on his round friend. (3 hits = broken stance thanks to physick consumable.)

Aaaaand just beat 'em in co-op with 3 in a group. Didn't think much of our chances, especially when I saw it was a full group (I'm assuming more players = more difficult fights) and that the host was named ALUCARD, but other than at the start we had it under control. Really pleased :msgreen:

The bosses get more health, the more human players there are.

Sounds fair, that.

CFA all but done. GSD weren't even the hardest thing about it  Penultimate and final boss (how cool was he?!) were much harder. As was finding my way after GSD fight  :fp:

Crumbling Farum Azula cleared :toot:

Optional boss (the double headed dragon) was a bit of a toughie, but I just took in a load of those perfumer's bottles that put you in a protective bubble and that was that.

Main boss fight: supoib spectacle. 10/10. Would fight again.

Would never have guessed that's what the clergy was :fp: I thought it was just a semi-talkative but voracious troll

Went back to Stormveil Castle and cleared out the underground section so I think I've basically cleared that legacy dungeon :toot:

Did some mad-dashing through the capital and got a few sites of grace so at least I have some entry points to start properly exploring - looks like a strawberry floating huge area though and I know there's a whole sewer system underground so that's going to take many many hours to clear out :dread:

Level 99 now, can't believe I've made it this far.

That first one tho :slol:

Almost over :(

The best thing I did in this fight? Not run blindly into the middle of the room and instead luckily find grace before the fight, so restarts were painless.

Cannot believe how long it took me to land the killing blow on this strawberry floater...

Something about those last couple bosses annoyed me. (Maybe this has been the case with all bosses up to now and I only just realised it.) When players knock mobs on their arse, they cannot instantly follow up with a hit, they instead have to wait a couple of moments for the mob to recover before attacks will be allowed to land again. That was not the case for final 2 CFA bosses, who both landed killing blows while I was fully laid out on the ground and unable to move. CHEATS!

Did a couple of dungeons in Snowfield and Mountaintop. Guard dog mobs :x

Also picked up the Shabriri's Woe talisman from Frenzied Flame village. (It causes the wearer to become the primary focus of attacks. But if you unequip it after summoning mimic tear, it supposedly stays equipped on it, meaning enemy ignores you. Not tried it yet myself, but worthing having as back up if I come across another difficult boss.)

I've tried that on the two hardest bosses in the game and it didn't seem to do much.

It's all RNG though so maybe you'll have more luck than me.
