Had the most bizarre MP moment yesterday. Was helping randoms against Niall and my final co-op buddy of the night refused to attack him :? I thought he'd gone AFK but then I saw him moving about and... that's all he was doing. Moving, chugging flasks, etc, but not striking. I can sort of understand them keeping to the back bc of those aoe attacks, but he wouldn't even attack the two times I'd staggered Niall :fp: It was super infuriating and the first time I've ever seen someone behave like that in MP. I died with the boss at about 40%. V frustrating

I wish when you died as a furled finger the game gave you the option to sick around and watch the remainder of the fight.

Baleful Shadow continues to just absolute dominate me, I just can't get near to defeating him. Level 101 and I feel like level 10 :x

I'm up to the Mountaintop of the Giantsnow, it's quite a nice chance of scenery and the more compact spaces are a cool middle ground between the expanses of places like Atlus and Liurnia and the more compact "Legacy" areas like Stormveil or the Academy

About 145 hours and level 176 now :datass:

I was pootling around Mountaintop the other day and I think it's one of my least favourite bits of the game. It looks interesting, but something about the traversal of it due to how its set out doesn't feel right. Thankfully it's not very long and so didn't cause me too much pain.

I think I'm going to start to attempt to finish this later tonight and then tomorrow. It's been a hell of a ride and I think I may possibly carry on with NG+ (it's not like there's anything else on the horizon worth playing right away...), which is something I have never done with a Souls game before. But that's me getting ahead of myself; here's hoping the finale doesn't put me off from that!

It's been nice as something a bit different, but yeah I can't say it's my favourite area - judging by the map it won't outstay it's welcome though!

Does anyone know if Consecrated Snowfield has those BASTARD snails that summon mobs? These ghostly giants have to coming from somewhere...

Yes that's it  :dread:

I think she kind of got what she wanted? Sort of?? There's a talisman item description that basically says, when you learn enough about "primeval sorceries" (the stuff she was studying), you inevitably turn into one of those things. And she definitely knew what she was getting into because she was originally kicked out of the Academy for turning other sorcerers into those balls. Doesn't look pleasant though...! :slol:

I just picked that up in last session.

It was in one of those puzzle towers with the clue being a statue of imps fighting. I think there's 2 ways to solve it: every message was about summoning required ahead. So I assume they mean summoning imp ashes. I on the other hand know that crystal darts cause stone mobs to sort of glitch out and start fighting amongst themselves. So I tried that and *BAM* It unlocked the tower 8-) My message which likely no one will get: Try confusion.

Found two pretty big things in Snowfield. One was a field boss ffs. I bet there's freaking tons of things I've just ridden past and have no clue of. (But I'm still planning on trying to start to complete it tonight...)

Missed out on a few of the endings. But that's totally fine as it means I can follow a slightly different path on NG+!

That whole "It's not about the destination," applies to the endings I got. Two were a load of piss (Elden Lord and er, the Dusk ending.), one was OK-ish but unnerving. (The Stars.)

Played a good bit more in the Capital today and that's Godfrey and Margott done.

Neither were particularly difficult to be fair. Godfrey went down second try and Margott was 4th or 5th.

Really helped being able to use the Mimic Tear to tank them and draw agro while I pelt them with Sorceries from a distance.

Honestly had more trouble with the Gargoyle by the West Rampart Site of grace.

Now I'm in some snowy place. How much more of the game is there to do?

At 50 hours and I'd like to know if I'm at least approaching the last few parts of this. Not that I'm in any big rush to finish it or anything (Not like there's much else out anytime soon).

In terms of bits that you have to do to see an ending, yeah, you're approaching the last few parts.

There are also a few pretty big "side-quest zones" that branch off though - some of which are hidden behind obscure quests or in secret nooks of course (classic FromSoft!).

That's what I was hoping. Still got plenty of scope to level up further (In the 80's just now) so glad to see there's still a good amount of side-stuff. Still got loads of stuff in earlier areas as well to be fair.

Finally figured out how to enter the mausoleum at Liurnia of the Lakes - Try this if you're not keen on the platforming: *points up at grave stones* time for ranged battle

Erdtree done burnt!

On to Crumbling Farum Azula now, seems like another cool area, although all of those circling dragons are a bit ominous!

I'd heard people call it a "small zone". When in actual fact it's more a tear your face off and wipe its arse with it while standing up sort of zone. (It's great. Enjoy!!)

 Turns out I've got a date with destiny with one of my first WTF/doooooomed moments in Elden Ring. (I never completed that crystal cave you get transported to near the start of the game and that's where the first sombre smithing stone bell-bearing is found.) I think that after that I'll be ready to start NG+. Maybe.

I just wish someone would drop me a somber ancient dragon smithing stone, I've got 3 of the regular ones now but no Somber. I just want my +10 Moonveil damn you!

Speaking of Dragons, the one that drops in on you early in Farum Azula wasn't too much of a pain, although it took me longer to take him down than expected. Toward the end of the fight I realised why - my Mimic Tear had just run off and was busy walking into a wall rather than doing anything to help!

Re above:

That fight took me 4 attempts thanks to mimic tear just constantly falling off the edge of the ruins  :fp: (But that just means I got see more of the most bad ass dragon in any Souls game.)

I'll be shocked if you don't have at least one of the stones you're after by the time you reach the end of CFA. (I looted loads in CFA but can't remember which version.)
