The broader scope of approaches in this is a positive over Sekiro IMO

Nope. I'd rather somebody curate a combat a combat system for me rather than throw up their hands and just say 'strawberry float it you decide' and then if they pick the wrong thing have the game be an exercise in massive frustration.

I mean it is still curated, just to a broader set of player configurations and approaches. Which to me is a win, but obviously not to your tastes!

I've enjoyed what I've played of Sekiro so far, but it's very much a case of "play how I want you to or you're strawberry floating dead" and that's less interesting to me personally.

I find I'm getting one shotted a lot now in NG+++.
Maybe laziness on my part. The only thing I really need is larval tears to swap between a bleed build and sorcery. Level 240 now but finding a 10 minute run in Elphael gets me about half a million runs.
Concentrating on trophies at the moment. To get the legendary spirits was a pain. For instance, I didn't have Cleanrot Knight summon, but to get it - Castle Sol to get 2nd half of haligree thing, get to Ordina, do dungeon, haligtree, get to near Malenia to find the summon.
Pain in the arse.

Still the best game ever.

If it makes you feel any better, I got all the legendary spirits without realising it was a thing

I did that with the talismans.
I need one sorcery and one weapon. And do fia's quest to have all the trophies. I can't get either on this playthrough now though. Fml.

At long last, I've beaten Malenia. I dunno if it was tactics or play style but I've been terrible against her and it was blocking me getting platinum.
Did it with a strong arcane build on NG++++

Might take a break now until DLC.
Level 257.

Well done! Don't think I'll ever manage to beat her.

Thanks mate. I'm sure you will beat her. She's not a priority so it's easier just to leave her be in her pit.

If you're really struggling, I suggest posting on the Reddit page Beyond the Fog and inviting players to help. Helped me through the final two bosses.

Malenia was definitely the closest thing to a real choke point I had in this game, some real cheese moves on her. But depending on your build there's usually some good strats to counter her setup and take the advantage.

Tempted to start a NG+ run with the sole intention of taking Rivers of Blood to strawberry float her right up this time

Didn't realise how lucky I was on the Malenia fight.
Look at the start of phase 2. I dodged the swoop but not the Aeonia blast. :slol:

I'd like to see the success rate on Malenia - 5% maybe?

Still going through my replay and made it too Mount Gelmir. Despite a couple of road blocks the Astrologer class just makes the game 100% easier and I can enjoy things a bit more than on the first playthrough. Having said that I still find the game to be incredibly over rated. The ever persistent problem is how enormously bloated it is. Absolutely everything in the game is twice as long as it should be and fatigue sets in about half way through every area. Also exploration is kinda crap.

The strawberry float is that tuning fork weapon?! It's like you're playing a different game to me!

Also, I had no idea you could drink multiple flasks in one animation, I've been pressing and then pressing again :fp:
