Imagine needing to use a rune!

I equiped but didn't activate it :capnscotty:

This was from a few months ago. I miss the game so much, can't wait to go back when the DLC is out and get my arse kicked by Melina again :datass:

I only ever got Godrick's and almost always forgot about it. I completed all the other divine towers, but just never bothered going back or something.

Godrick's rune is actually worth using in a tight spot, are any of the others any good?

Rykard's is decent (gives you health back when you defeat an enemy) but Godrick's one is all round the best imo

I never used any of them, I always have an aversion to any temporary boosting stuff in these games - humanity/kindling, runes, resins etc. Basically if it's not a permanent upgrade or is based on a consumable then I don't bother!

Some of the descriptions of the tune powers did sound quite cool though

To be fair there are so many systems in Elden Ring it's quite hard to interact with them all even if you want to!

I didn't use runes that much, but I found Radahn's quite helpful for a bit of a HP boost later on when the bosses start hitting hard.

Yeah man, sure, to start with those Great runes make you feel great- like the king of the Lands Between, but before you know it you're dependant on them and up to your neck in giant rats as you desperately farm rune arcs to get your next hit.

It's a slippery slope and dependency programs to help you out are really hard to find in the Lands Between!

I've noticed that Elden Ring is now showing as 83% complete on my PS5, which kinda tells me the DLC has the remaining 17% of trophies.
Should be fun.
Back fighting Horah Loux again. So frustrating.

I'd be surprised if the DLC trophies had been added yet considering how far out it likely is. Can't remember if PSN shows a number, but Steam has it as 42/42 for me.

How do the runes actually work? I've had Godrick's equipped and never used it. Do I just use a consumable rune to activate it and it lasts until I die?

Haven't played for a while since Resi 4 came out but I'm keen to get back into it.

Yeah, Godricks great rune give +5 to all stat. Worth it for general play and dungeon bosses.
Maybe not demigods.

About 65 hours in now and I'm about to fight Malenia. I'm level 150 so I'll be heading straight for the final boss after this.

I stick by my opinion that it's an incredible game, there's just too much of it. I absolutely prefer From's more linear games and I'll be kind of relieved when I'm finally finished with it. I might even replay Sekiro when I'm done with this.

Do people actually enjoying fighting Malenia? Even with all my FromSoftware experience, I honestly think she's a bit bullshit.

I like Malenia but I think "I'd really prefer for the game to be over now" isn't the right mindset for her.

That's not a criticism of you in the slightest by the way, sorry if it comes across like that. I just think the extreme difficulty makes her quite a "psychological" boss -- if you're tired of the game, it's going to frustrate you, but you can always just play something else and come back later. The DLC will be out this year, you could leave her for then.

I'm not offended at all. I think you've hit the nail on its head perfectly, actually. I'll play some Advance Wars instead. Maybe use my gaming time this week to finish KoToR and then come back to Elden Ring refreshed.

Thanks! :D
