(Releasing June 11)

Learn the basics of game design and visual programming with interactive lessons from the minds at Nintendo. Game Builder Garage will allow you create your own games - there's a wide variety of possibilities, from Smash Bros. style brawlers, shooting galleries and racing games to motion-controlled mazes, shmups and endless runners.
Like with Mario Maker before it, Game Builder Garage encourages you to flex creative muscle alongside a cast of fun and quirky personalities; known as the 'Nodon', these characters take charge of everything that goes into making your ideas reality.

You'll find more details on their official site, but so far this title looks and sounds like LittleBigPlanet, albeit with a more approachable interface and general Nintendo charm.

I assume this is EPD4?

With Ring Fit, 1-2 Switch, Labo and co developing Brain Training and Miitopia, they're extremely productive on Switch!

It looks really cool, I’ll be up for creating some random ass games in this

EDIT: Thinking more about this, if they support this game with content drops featuring different IP like Metroid, Zelda and F-Zero it could be a very cool thing. The only thing I’m wondering is that it’s not going to be deep enough though for people to make multi screen Metroidvania’s or Zelda Dungeons though

Just like real life if you make F-Zero per Superfurryfox64's suggestion

Can you share games with other people?

Can you import graphics and sound files from your SD Card?

Not for me thanks. If I'm going to programme a game I'm going to do it the proper way: using statistical analysis software. :datass:

That's pretty much my thinking - seems worth a punt. Was worried it would be a bit simplistic at the beginning of the trailer, but the variety shown near the end has caught my interest. Hopefully it reviews well.

I’ve seen you can share codes with friends that will let them play your levels. Hopefully they have a section where you can just browse creations with different filters etc..... but this is Nintendo we are talking about

The very idea this will get more than the most cursory of post launch support is hilarious. If Super Mario Maker is essentially left to die this has no chance.

strawberry floating Nintendo.

Nice idea for a game though. I might give it a look.

Mario Maker support hasn't been awful. Obviously it was cut back from what was originally planned (no new styles :( ) but we still got version 2 adding the Master Sword and version 3 adding worlds, SMB2 and other powerups, so some of my favourite stuff is from updates.

I can't see any online being up to scratch though with things like searching, curation and comments.

I think it's safe to say we're in for some utterly brilliant creations from this.
