A good way to trust things is by recreating things that already exist before moving on to your own projects. Nothing wrong with it, but I get why people see it as the person is some sort of failure and should be shot into the sun for a wasted life.

Are you more interested in the writing side of it? There are some cool systems for making text adventures and visual novels around that might be more to your taste!

There are so many different parts to making a game. Game Builder Garage is definitely catered towards programming - the characters in the game say as much, that they are teaching you to be a game programmer - with game and level design in there sort of by default. If you're interested more in art, or writing, then it's not really got much on offer unfortunately! You can't even include more than 8 text boxes in a game, and the texture editor and 3D modelling are basic to say the least.

If you are interested in trying some interactive fiction there are lots of tutorials for a program called Twine like this one that might help you get going. We have a hobbyist game dev thread which anyone can feel free to post in looking for help or just to show anything off.

I haven't played much lately Fisher! The rubber part of the stylus I use has started to fall apart. I need to buy a new one as I don't like using my finger for touch controls.

Not yet, I've been playing Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Nintendo have been releasing demo setups via the news channel for doing different things, the latest was changing textures depending on your direction in first person. They are pretty cool.

I have downloaded the demo but not got around to it yet!

I think if this had arrived at a time where I had fewer games on the go then I would have been all over it, sadly timing has not been good for me and Game Builder Garage
