I'm hoping Mirror's Edge will win it for me but until then Fable 2 I think has it. I'm struggling to remember what games I've really enjoyed earlier this year, GTAIV of course, Geometry wars 2 yeah but the addiction has worn off, hmm, MGS4...nah, I liked it alot but not enough. Far Cry 2? as much as I'm loving it right now I'm not sure it's quite reached GOTY material, for me anyway...oh I don't know, it's between Fable 2, Far Cry 2 or GTAIV, for now.

So far Fallout 3.

However, we've still Gears2, Mirrors Edge, LBP to come yet.

At the moment it would be between Fable 2 and MarioKart Wii.

Every time I've seen another game mentioned in this thread I've died a little inside.

I think the fact that at least half of the forum won't be able to play it and half of those haven't played it yet.

Does that mean if someone posts a really long list you'll be completely dead inside?

In which case you won't feel anything towards LittleBIGPlanet, and will instead be some kind of emotionless, robotic husk of a man.

It's called Hugo Syndrome.

You can blame the disappointing demo of Naruto: Broken Bond! Ultimate Ninja Storm's graphics and presentation has spoiled me and turned me into a graphics snob. I really wanted to like both, but the stunning combat and presentation of N:UNS won out in the end. I'll probably keep an eye out for it on the cheap, but I don't think it'll sneak into my list. Would love to be proved wrong though.

No, it's not out until Friday, but the demo was more than enough to convince me that it will be a contender for my game of the year. I played it in multiplayer for hours. Stunning stuff, especially if you're a fan.

For the record I think that LBP looks ace, although I do have doubts about it's appeal to the masses. My opinion was merely based on the fact it's a bit early to be debating this when we have several supposedly excellent titles yet to land in our laps.

Rock Band.

Should change when Gears 2 comes out though.

My English essay is going to be a serious pile of gooseberry fool.

Now I'm a huge MGS fan, but I'll still claim that Far Cry 2 is superior over MGS4 - therefore my game of the year thus far.

For me, so far, it's one of these:

Fable II
GTA IV
MGS4
Rock Band
Battlefield: Bad Company

Still to get Fallout, LBP, COD5 and Gears though so we'll see how they stack up in two months. Oh and Far Cry 2, but we'll see how I feel. Not really in the mood for another shooter right now.

1. Braid
2. Geometry Wars 2
3. Dead Space
4. Smash Bros Brawl
5. Zack & Wiki

Suprised Braid hasn't been mentioned before actually.

It's far too short to make most lists. It's a great little game, but to get the GOTY it'd have to be a fair whack longer.

For me it's between Fable II and GTA IV at the moment but I have a feeling both will be overtaken by Gears.

We've had some awesome games this year, and still a whole bunch of great titles to come.

But for me, it's going to be Fable II, I don't think there's a question about that. I am utterly, head-over-heels in love with that game. I've said this before but it's the best game I've played since Galaxy, at least on a personal level.

Still, think of the other contenders: No More Heroes, MGS4, GTAIV, Gears of War 2, LittleBigPlanet, Rock Band, Guitar Hero IV, Dead Space and still we have stuff like Mirror's Edge to come. Good strawberry floating times man, good times.
