The ending of GoT was so bad it's completely killed all hype for any new stuff for me.
I'll most likely watch it but I'm not excited and will only bother if it's on a sub service I already have.

Honestly with the amount of different ideas they’ve probably got in various stages of planning/production it might be massively overkill in the near future for Game of Thrones content. All I really want is Winds of Winter & A Dream of Spring and as time goes on I’m fearful for even getting both of these :(

The wait is getting pretty silly now.
It wouldn't be so bad if Mr Martin didn't constantly do other stuff instead of finishing the series.

Yeah that’s the annoying thing, of course he can do what he wishes but we’ve had loads of other books inbetween ADWD releasing and now, we’re still seemingly no closer to getting either of the next two books while he’s probably writing plenty of Fire and Blood vol 2 instead. It’s now coming up 10 years since ADWD too.

This should be good and I’ll definitely watch it when it’s on, but I can’t help but still feel disappointment about how Game of Thrones ended when I see anything new in the franchise

Cool I didn't realise Geralt was in this.

I just can't look at Matt Smith without thinking of those god-awful Terminator: Genysis promo shots

I'm hopeful that it will be a return to form for GOT with the new show and I'm definitely willing to give it a watch and my full attention. The brand though is definitely damaged from season 8 of the original show.

I will struggle to watch Matt Smith in it though. This is not sour grapes as I used to play footie with him as a kid, I just don't think he has a face for TV and struggle to take him seriously.

Tentative enthusiasm for this. The source material is rich, I really liked Fire and Blood. And they seem to have gotten the band back together in terms of production, and it really was the fault of the showrunners dropping the ball when they had no source material.

I'm willing to give it a chance.

I'm ready to get hurt again.

Those 2 banana splits that ruined Season 8 don't appear to be involved so am mildly optimistic.

I've just had a look at their IMDB pages, and it looks like they have both done strawberry float all since Game of Thrones.

Good, I'm glad.

I fully appreciate it's not healthy to have this much disdain for 2 people I have never met and are probably nice people.

They rushed and ruined GOT because they wanted to move on to bigger and better things with star wars, then got dropped from star wars because they ruined GOT

Does anyone not think GRRM also has plenty to do with the failure of season 8? The showrunners were hacks - obviously - but they had literally nothing to work with beause the author has tied himself in knots with his story. He couldn't even finish the next book (10 years and still nothing) during lockdown!

The showrunners will be fine. They have a huge Netflix deal and are making The Three-Body Problem next.

The showrunners were making bad adaptation choices when they still had GRRM's published material.

The only way I’d pin a portion of the blame of GRRM is if it came out that the 2 main show runners were actively getting in touch with GRRM on story topics and he was ignoring all of their requests. That’s before you take into account the Dothraki who constantly re-spawned

Ooh I have heard of this series, that could be good (if they improve the quality of their work  )
