I don't mind the continued slow build up at all, but feel like there's not enough time to tie up everything at this point. No matter how it ends, there's going to be so many questions left unanswered.
If everyone survives, does Jon really have a claim to the Iron Throne? He knows the truth, we know the truth, but this doesn't seem like the sort of world where someone can rock up and tell the powers that be that his brother has weird super powers and found out a secret that nobody else knows, that can never be proven. Can he give up that claim, if it was proven? I'm reading through the book on the Targaryen history at the moment and so far it's always the eldest son of the previous king that takes over if there is one, although it doesn't seem set in stone as there have been a few discussions/arguments between king and queen about wether a daughter should be heir if she were the oldest, but has younger brothers. Nobody has 'abdicated' as such, but there is the Maester Aemon situation. He is elder brother was heir to the throne, so he became a maester which involves giving up all inheritance rights, and then later on his brother died, which threw up the debate of wether he should become king.
From the final shot, there are way more of the white walkers than I'd realised. So many questions about how they are created. We know that this is probably what became of Crastor's sons, but are some of those walkers the same ones that were driven back during the first invasion? Are we going to find out what brought an end to that invasion? It hasn't really been touched on too much in the TV show, but in the books it seems like there might be more to it than the army of the dead were simply defeated. I guess they do have that spin-off coming through, so probably not going to get too much info for now.
