Having thought about it more, a lot of its' issues are fixable by telling the season over two instead.

Season 8 should have been about the North and winter getting worse and worse as the Night King takes over, culminating in the Battle of Winterfell.

Season 9, with the Night King defeated, would then be about Dany's march south to fight Cersei while in the background she is slowly losing it and getting madder and madder. We're shown the signs but still people think she will win and become Queen. Until the fight King's Landing where she completely loses it and goes mad. Had it been handled and delivered with better writing and given time to develop organically it could have been a truly shocking twist and another Red Wedding moment for the show.

That would have been preferable.

I have no problem with this.

Yeah but they don’t want that, wanting to finish it fast so they can move on to Star Wars.

Said the same thing to the GF last night when watching. The 2 battles/wars are made perfectly to be told over 2 seasons!

The ideas are "OK" but the execution is rushed and therefore not believeable as a result. A real shame.

The Lannister twins deserved a better ending than that. They could have died in the same manner, but there should have a been a lot more buildup/structure to the scene. It could have been a really sad and tragic scene but ended up all a bit messy amongst everything else.

I didnt mind the Mountain/Hound bit, but what was going on with the Mountain's head/face? Appreciate he's a Zombie but it looked very odd, almost like he was CGI'd. Loved the little witch guy getting strawberry floated up so nonchantly. That felt more like GOT to me.

The Euron/Jaimie bit was just stupid.

Enjoyed it far more than the battle of Winterfell, as was able to shut my brain off for most of it and enjoy the spectacle, but still a shadow of its former self.

Looks like those leaked rumours about the ending may be true. Also interesting and funny to see the actors tring to not to show their disappointment/irritation at the way the Series has gone. Appreciate no one wants to bite the hand that feeds them, I wonder if more will come out once it's all wrapped up.

An enjoyable spectacle, but I'm more convinced than ever that those 2 hacks rushed this all out so they would get the starwars movie contract, Which if the case, is pretty shitty and disrespectful to the Books/story/show/fans etc. I envision there is a lot of fanbase crossover between GOT and SW, so will be interesting if there will be any backlash with any SW films they work on.

I do wonder why any of the main characters don't wield a huge axe or warhammer?

It's all just swords and the occasional spear/dagger.

The Mountain with a warhammer would have been awesome, would have made the Missandei death a bit messier 8-)

The absolute worst part of the most recent episode was everything about Euron jumping off a burning boat and turning up alone at a random shore just in time to fight with Jaime.

Not diabolical enough on its own, they really put it to bed with the 'calm before the storm' dramatic discourse:

Oi do you want to get another king-sized notch on your belt
Lol m8 ur not a king
Err yes I am a king tho

Euron has to be the worst character in the show's history. Any challengers?

Quick question.

The Throne they're all fighting for was in the building that got demolished so surely the entire last episode will be them organising a huge rescue and retrieval operation for that.
What if it got melted by dragon fire?

Bran is the worst fictional character in history so it's hard to top that.

I like to think he washed up a while before that scene and was just having a paddle until someone came his way.

At least it proved he could see through rocks, he called out Kingslayer before he could see him just like shooting down Rhaegal last week.

And with that House Taf and House Moggy revealed their secret alliance and smote the evils of House Ad, House Obloboblo and House Suzz. With the Iron Throne clearly in their sights will the alliance hold, or will it tumble down following the final push to the end?

The dragon flame melts the binding material (King's Landing Premium Mortar™) and the concussive blast dislodges the masonry.
